Chapter 4 Jamarion had his assistant trace the scammer's phone location. Luckily, the scammer didn't seem too smart. The assistant quickly pinpointed the address. Jamarion prepared some money and drove to Morpheus Garden on Aurora Avenue. It was a chaotic and filthy place swarming with lowlifes. He hadn't expected such a place to exist in Aurelia. After searching the area, they finally found Brylee outside a shop marked with a skull. But her behavior was strange. She was dancing in the sunlight, casting odd shadow-plays, while humming a badly out-of-tune song. "Drawing angel... "Drawing angel... "A wild pony and a thorny rose... "..." Jamarion frowned in confusion. This was not the Brylee he knew. The Brylee he knew was timid and submissive. But this one was lively and playful. He could see in her beautiful eyes a mischievous spark. She looked vibrant... even alluring. He stepped out of the car and walked straight toward her. But remembering the trouble she had caused, his face was cold. "Bry. How did you end up here? Your wound hasn't even healed yet!" he scolded. The moment Brylee saw him, she reacted as if seeing a poisonous wasp. She jumped away at once. Her terrified expression and wary gaze gave Jamarion a very bad feeling. "Who are you?" Brylee clutched her chest, demanding. "I'm your husband," Jamarion snapped. But Brylee clearly didn't believe him. She turned and darted into the hypnosis shop. Jamarion strode in after her. Inside, Brylee hid behind Lucian, peeking out fearfully at Jamarion. Even Jamarion, slow as he was, could see it. Brylee didn't seem to recognize him. His hawk-like eyes slashed toward Lucian like blades. "What did you do to my wife?" His voice was cold and menacing. At that time, he could only imagine Lucian had drugged Brylee or harmed her in some way, leaving her mentally unstable. Lucian tossed him a contract. "Your wife asked me to hypnotize her." Jamarion glanced at Lucian's name badge, finally realizing this man was the world-famous, almost-mythical hypnotist. But he didn't understand. Why would Brylee want hypnosis? If she was unwell, she could've just told him. He would've found her a doctor. Flipping open the contract signed between Brylee and Lucian, he found it detailed. Each project was priced separately. But when he read the actual items Brylee had requested, his heart surged with turmoil. Item One: "Help Brylee O'Neal forget Jamarion Galvan and Kylee O'Neal, those two despicable people." Item Two: "Help Brylee O'Neal forget that she was married. Erase every trace of Jamarion Galvan from her life." Item Three: "Help Brylee O'Neal forget the painful memory of her kidney transplant." Finally came the most important item. "Teach Brylee to love herself." Jamarion's tall figure trembled, and those calculating eyes revealed an unprecedented unease. He stared at Lucian in disbelief, his voice quivering. "You forged it, right? Brylee would never do such a thing." Lucian gave him a speechless look. "Can't you recognize Brylee's handwriting? "Jamarion, the Brylee of today has already forgotten you. Do you still want her? "Brylee said, if you don't want her anymore, I should send her to the Rainbow Bridge." At the mention of "Rainbow Bridge", Jamarion trembled, his handsome face turned cold. Reason slowly returned to him, and he suddenly realized that Brylee must have overheard his conversation with Kylee outside the door. He had thought she would be content. Only now, upon reflection, did he realize how little he actually understood her. Brylee despised his deception. She even hated him. She had even described them as "despicable people". That alone showed how deeply he had wounded her. Jamarion felt choked with unspeakable pain. When he looked at Brylee's innocent face, he could no longer see any admiration in her eyes. Suddenly, he laughed wickedly. "Brylee, stop pretending. How could a mere hypnotist have such power to erase all of your memories?"
