Chapter 6 Lena's POV I had a long dream. I found myself back five years ago, the first time I met Blake. At that time, I hadn't lost my sight yet, and my favorite thing was to shift and run through the forest. I stumbled upon him struggling to escape a trap, only to slip and fall down a wild mountain. He broke his leg, lost a lot of blood, and was on the brink of death. I used all my food, water, and medicine to keep him alive. Blake was unconscious for three days before he finally woke up, and by then, I had collapsed from exhaustion. He slit his own wrist and gave me his blood ten times before the pack's rescue team found us. When Blake pursued me, he said that if we could make it out of that forest, it was fate, the unfinished bond from a past life, a match made in heaven, a bond of life and death. But the scene changed. It shifted to Blake abandoning me to the beasts in order to save Kendra. I screamed and opened my eyes. My hands and feet were bound. A blindfold was tied over my eyes, and I couldn't see anything. Voices reached me, faint and distant. "Alpha Blake, your pack has seized our territory from the nightwind pack. Because of you, my pack has lost many members, and the remaining ones are being attacked by rogues. Don't you think you should pay the price?" "Landon, you dare kidnap me? You're asking for death." It was Blake's voice. Landon laughed maniacally, his tone deranged. "Even if I die, I'll drag you down with me. But just killing you? That's too easy for you." He looked at me for a moment, then twisted his lips into a cruel smile. "How about we play a game?" Blake clenched his fists, his eyes filled with malice. "I have three little punishments here, Blake. You choose personally who to save." He waved his hand, and both Kendra and I were dragged roughly toward Landon. "Ugh!" Kendra struggled in fear. I gritted my teeth, enduring the pain of stones digging into my back. Blake's expression twisted in fury when he saw us. His veins bulged on his forehead. "Let them go. What's between us is one thing, but don't involve them." Landon ignored him completely. "The first punishment: drowning in the sea." Blake's breath caught. "I'll give you anything you want. Let them go." "Don't waste my time!" Landon's eyes darkened. "Since you won't choose, then I'll throw both of them into the sea and feed them to the sharks!" Before Blake could respond, Kendra and I were kicked into the cold sea. "No! Don't do that!" Blake screamed in fury. The saltwater flooded my mouth and nose, the taste of the ocean overwhelming me. The sensation of suffocation gripped my lungs. I struggled beneath the surface, cold tearing at my lungs. They pulled us up and threw us back again and again. By the third time, darkness was creeping in, and I could barely hold on. As Landon signaled his beta to throw us into the water once more, Blake's eyes turned crimson, his voice hoarse from shouting, "Landon! Stop! I'll choose." "Oh? Blake, who will you save? Lena, or Kendra?" Blake hesitated between me and Kendra for what seemed like an eternity, before finally, his gaze landed on me. "I choose-"
