Chapter 43 The past week has been busy. Everyday like clockwork I wake up and go to train with Lucas. He has gotten really good and can spar against me longer than he did the first time. After that I go to my room and take a shower, eat breakfast and work on the things needed for the daycare. I go to my meeting with Alarick and we read book after book, trying to figure out a way he won't have to mark me. Nothing so far. We are getting along, but I don't open up. Fen doesn't even like the fact that we are getting along and joking around. After the meeting I go to lunch, then head to the school. I started volunteering after the day I went to talk with them about bullying. It went well, but the teachers were alarmed that I was there. I go now and read to the kids or help with schoolwork they are doing. After school ends I take Breana and Christopher to the restaurant. I get desserts everytime I go and make sure to get enough for people at the castle so I don't have to worry about Fen bi*ching when I give away her desserts. When I get back I have personal time and hang out with Markus, Amara, or call Laura. So far it is good. It is Saturday, so I don't have to go to school. The only thing I have left for the daycare is staff. I have one woman, Kara, who is the director and will be in charge of the children, but so far there are 10 children that have been registered. Kara will need help, so I am looking around for candidates that will be able to help her. "Knock. Knock." I hear and look over to see Amara walking in with coffee. She has been up early everyday overseeing the apartment rebuild. "Hey. I thought you would be over at the apartment." I say putting down my notebook I had. "It is coming along quite nicely. I just need to put the finishing touches in and they won't be delivered until later today." She says. "Wow. That came together fast." I say and she chuckles. "When you are of my status people tend to drop what they are doing to help." She says, flipping her hair back. "So you used your status to get what you want. Sounds kind of snakey." I say raising my brow at her. She just rolls her eyes. "No. I use the places that don't have as much business, because I know even if I tell people there is no rush, they rush it anyway." She says as she comes and sits down on the couch next to me. She hands me a coffee then picks up my notebook. She scrunches her nose when she reads it. "You know it would be easier to do all this on the computer. There is a website that shows pack members who are looking for work. Also how did you even order the stuff for the daycare without doing it online?" She asks. I chuckle and roll my eyes at her. "I don't know if you know this, but there is a thing called a catalog. It's a magazine that shows what is available for purchase. And." I gasp. "And. There are stores here in town that have a lot of what you are looking for. But don't tell anybody I told you that. It is a secret." I say in a lower tone. Amara huffs and then smacks me on the arm. I laugh at her annoyance. "You don't have to be a smartass about it." She says. Maleena comes walking out of the room with a training outfit on. "She is always a smart ass. And don't get her started on why she doesn't own a cell phone." Maleena says, grabbing an apple from a fruit basket on the small bar we have. I roll my eyes at her and I hear Amara gasp. "Wait. You actually don't have a cell phone. I thought that you were joking about that. Maybe you just didn't want my number." She says with wide eyes. "No. I don't have a cell phone." I say and she just stares at me like I am an alien. Before she could ask why I turned to Maleena who was putting on her tennis shoes. "Why are you up before 7, and where are you going?" I say, eyeing her suspiciously. "I am going out to train with the warriors." She says as if I should have known this. "What are you talking about?" I ask her. "Alpha said that I could start training with the warriors if my instructor at school agreed that I am above what they are teaching us at school." She says in a obvious tone. "When did this happen and why wasn't I told?" I ask her. "He said it Monday at dinner, but wanted to wait till Friday to ask my instructor. It gave me and the instructor time to see that I am good enough. So Alpha said yesterday that I could start training with the warriors when I have time and instead of training at school, I will be getting private lessons on how to control my gifts." She says matter of factly. I scrunch my nose and try to think about this. I am proud of her, but I am upset nobody told me about it. Before I could make up my mind on what to say next Maleena talks again. "Look it wasn't a for sure thing, that is why I didn't tell you. I wanted to make sure that it would happen before I told you. You already had a lot going on and I knew you would try to help me." She said, which made me feel better. "Are you sure you want to be a warrior though? There are many other careers that I know you would like." I say. Not trying to discourage her, but only making sure she is doing what she wants to do. "Yes. I want to be able to help people and protect them. I want to be able to stand up for the weaker members and help try and change dynamics between warriors and other pack members." She says. She truly is a one of a kind person. I smile and get up, she does the same. I hugged her. "I am proud of you, Little Sun." I say with tears in my eyes. I pull back and she chuckles but then takes a step back. She has never seen me so emotional. I quickly blot my eyes and smile at her. She smiles back and comes to hug me again. "I love you." She says then pulls back. "I love you too, my little sun." I say as she waves at me and walks out the door. I sigh and sit down on the couch. I feel a hand on my shoulder and look over to see Amara smiling. We sit and talk about everything and nothing. In Addicted to You movie, Audrey's biggest regret?
