Chapter 16 LeeAca's POV 3 AM rolls around and like clockwork, I wake up panting. I go to the main room and open the patio doors and step out. "Can we train today? We have scooped the place out long enough. The guards are nowhere near the area we found until the 6:00 shift change." Fen says. "Yes. You know that I like to study the movements of warriors to eliminate the chance of getting caught. Training of course is different, Fen. We need to ensure that if somebody sees us training it is only light work. They cannot see our other gift and fighting prowess." I counter her. "I know I know. Even if they threaten to tell anybody what we are, we can kill them." She says. "We will not kill somebody for a mistake we clearly made." Fen rolls her eyes at me then goes to the back of my head. I go and change into black leggings and my black long sleeve shirt. I do not risk anybody seeing my body, ever. I sneak out of my window and head to the spot in the woods we found earlier. After I stretched and ran, I started to practice my moves. Punching a tree does not have the same effect of punching a being, but it will have to do. I don't have anybody to train with here. Next I play with my other ability. Very few people know that I have two abilities. This one is not a gift, though. It is a curse. A reminder of what happened to me, as is everything else. I make a dagger appear out of thin air and throw it at the tree. It is a little off to the left, but that is what happens when I don't train for weeks. I threw three more and while the first one was off a little the last two were dead on. I continue this till I hear the shift change alarms of warriors going off. Damn, it has already been 3 hours. I head back to my room and take a shower to get ready for the day. Allarick's POV I couldn't sleep last night. After dinner I just kept thinking of LeeAca. I haven't exactly been open to her accepting her new role. She should feel more welcomed to the pack. I haven't heard much about her getting out and around maybe I should have somebody give her a tour. Maybe I should tell her what her expected duties as Queen would entail. "Maybe you should try to get to know her." My wolf chimes in. "Onin?" I say. Almost not believing that I heard his rough voice in my head. It has been weeks since he last talked to me and even then it was a one word response. But now he actually said something other than one word. "You know I can hear your thoughts. I am not an imbecile, I can say more than one word. Maybe you have lost brain cells and don't know how to talk to people anymore." I would be upset, but this is the first time he has insulted me in a playful manner since.. Well I won't go there. "Good to have you back Onin. I missed you." "I know." Is all he says. "Not to push you away, but why are you back. You seem like everything is back to normal." I say. "I don't know. It is something about that she-wolf that strikes a nerve in me. Curiosity takes over and makes me want to talk." He answers. "She-wolf? You mean LeeAca?" I ask. "Yes dipsh*t. Who else? Not one of your whores you always bring around." Onin answers. "Wait, I thought you tried to reach out to her wolf the first time we met her?" I ask. "I did try, but her wolf was hiding." He says. "That's weird." I say. "Yea. So I want you to spend more time with her so her wolf won't hide when I reach out." He says. "Oh no buddy. I can't do that. We will only have a professional, business relationship with them." I say. "If you don't I will go back to hiding and sulking. She is the only reason I am back out." He argues. "I don't understand Onin. Why is she the only reason you are back?" I ask, slightly irritated. He doesn't answer. He only retreats to the back of my mind where he has been hiding since the accident. Before I could push Onin to talking more, somebody bursts through my door. Amara. "WHat the hell is wrong with you?!" She all but screams at me. "What are you talking about?" I ask. Getting irritated she just barged in and yells at me. "LeeAca. You haven't told her what is to be expected of her. AND she hasn't had a tour of the pack. How do you expect a wolf to remain calm if they feel caged up and out of place. You should have at least had the decency to have somebody give her a tour and tell her what she is expected to do." I just look at her. Last night she seemed hell bent on not having her as a queen, but now she is defending her. What changed her mind? "I am working on that. And why do you care? You hated her last night." I say. "I did not hate her. I don't know her. I was testing her and she failed. But I later learned that she has been caged in this hell hole and that is why she blew up. I am not saying I believe she should be your mate. I am saying that it is wrong to have her just sitting here doing nothing waiting for you to give her instructions." She defends. "I am working on finding somebody to give her a tour." I say, irritated. "Don't bother, I am on my way to pick her up to give her one. Just keep acting like she doesn't exist. Maybe then the council will back off. Is that your hope?" Amara asks. "One could only dream, Amara." I answer. All she did was shake her head and walk out. I release a heavy sigh and continue to work on some paperwork I started earlier. In Addicted to You movie, Audrey's biggest regret? A one-night stand with Floyd, her secret love for eight years. Despite his arranged marriage and his family's troubles, he kept rescuing her. She tho...
