Chapter 11 Alarick's POV After I am done with Larissa I kick her out. I haven't been able to have s*x for the past 3 weeks. The first week I was busy with the ball and the last 2 weeks I have been busy with getting the women to sign the contacts. There were only a handful that would actually sign it. I guess it is because it says that if they break the contract then they will be turned rogue or killed. But I didn't think it was that bad. All they had to do was keep their mouths shut about sleeping with me among a few other minor details. I go in and take a shower then go to the office. As soon as I walk in Markus is sitting there waiting for me. "I figured I would warn you that your sisters are on their way home. They left the airport 30 minutes ago." Markus says. "Great. Just another thorn in my side." I responded. "Any news on LeeAca?" I ask. "Only that she was a warrior and went to school abroad for 3 years. Nothing about a mate." Markus says. "Well bring her in and I will talk with her then." I answer. Markus gets up to leave and I turn and look out the window behind me. "Great. Now what am I going to do?" I ask nobody in particular. I feel Onin, my wolf starts to come out but not enough to say anything. I just feel his frustration and disappointment. Ever since Katherine died he has been a wolf of little words. I actually miss him berating me all of the time and annoying me like a little pup. But oh well. I have just settled on us never having the relationship that we once had. LeeAca's POV I get up off of the floor and walk to the bathroom to take a shower. That pain made me sweat pretty badly and I needed to let the shower relax my muscles that were constricting. I get in and just stand there letting the rain falling from the ceiling relax me. "I told you this bond is stronger." Fen says. "I know but I didn't realize how much stronger. The last time we felt something like that is the last time we were experimented on." I answer. "I know. What are we going to do?" She asks. "Well we know now that since the bond is for sure stronger we will need to figure out how to leave without him finding out and rejecting us." I say. "What if we stayed?" Fen asks, surprising me. "What?" I ask surprised. "If we stay and get closer we will get stronger. We are able to handle him sleeping with others, the pain will lessen over time and at the same time we will physically get stronger. We will not have to worry about the bond pulling us back because we will be here and we will not have to worry about him marking another, which will also be equivalent to him rejecting us." She explains. "I guess that is the only plan we have that makes sense at the moment." I say back, sighing. I get out of the shower, get dressed, and sit on the couch next to the phone. It is 8 am, so that means Laura is up and in her office. I pick up the phone and dial her number. "Luna Laura speaking." She says in her professional voice that also sounds like a sweet motherly voice. "Hey Laur. It's me." I say back. "Ace! OMG I thought you forgot about all of us. Nobody has heard from you. What's going on? Is everything okay? Have you figured out a plan yet?" So many questions. "Everything is fine. I have just been getting used to the layout of the place. I only just got a phone today." I tell her. "I told you that you needed to get a cell phone. But do you ever listen? NO. You don't." She says. "Cell phones are trackers. They are.." Before I can finish she interrupts me. "The easiest way for an enemy to find our locations. Yes I know we have had this conversation before. Are you going to answer any of my questions or are you going to just avoid them?" She asks and I roll my eyes. "I HAVEN'T HAD TIME TO ANSWER THEM. I playfully yell at her." "Jeesh calm down grumpy." She jokes. I roll my eyes and smile. I miss her nagging. "I don't." Fen counters. "Yes you do Fen." I say back. "To answer your questions though.. Nothing important has happened. Everything is just peachy. And I have a not so solid plan that is the only plan that makes sense." I say. "And?" She asks, trying to hide the skepticism through the phone. "Well, um, Fen and I talked and we are going to stay here and play it by ear. We can't have him rejecting us because the bond is too strong, and we also can't have him mark another because of it too. So we will stay here and figure it out." Just as I finish the sentence I hear a knock at the door. "Ace that is ludicrous. Do I even have to tell you how.. "I interrupt her before she can continue. "I've got to go, Laur. I will call you later. Bye." I hang up before she can say anything else. I go to answer the door and see Beta Markus standing there with his hands in his pockets rocking back and forth. "Yes Beta?" I ask giving him a questioning look. He is nervous and I don't like it. "King Alarick asked me to get you. Do you need a few minutes or are you ready?" "I just need to put my shoes on. You can come in while I get them if you'd like." I go to the side of the door and get my boots as he walks in. I go back to the couch and sit to start putting on my boots. "Why is it that everytime I am near you, you seem so anxious?" I ask him. "I dont know what you are talking about." He says back. "Well unless my gift is playing tricks on me every time you are around, you are always anxious." I say matter of factly. He sighs and runs his finger through his hair. "It is because you are unpredictable. One minute you may have a smile on your face, but the next you are giving off a vibe that says you will kill me. It is very confusing and gives me much anxiety." He says. "No need to fret Beta." I say with a smile. "If I wanted you dead, you would be dead." I say then stand up. "See that. What the hell was that? Was it a threat or supposed to be a reassuring thing because I don't know." He says. "However you wish to take it Beta. When I say certain things it is to gauge a reaction and see what the people feel. You have some fear but mostly relief. SO I would say that you do know how to take my statement. Are you ready to go?" I say and start walking out the door. "He is an idiot." Fen grumbles. "Why are you nice to him?" She asks. "Because he has done nothing to deserve us being anything but nice." I answer. "You were never like this before." She complains. "What do you mean Fen?" I ask. "You never spoke to people unless they needed guidance with their feelings. But only the ones who were truly in turmoil. Now you are talking with people who are just a little nervous? You never did that before." She states. "Well, if we need the king to keep us we need to be nice to his friends and his people. We don't have to be too outgoing but enough to not be perceived as a b*tch. If his people choose to not want us they can go to the King and complain. Therefore the people can help change his mind into getting rid of us." I explain. "Ugh. SO that means we have to be nice and ew, talk to people." She almost gags out. "Only certain ones. If there are people who are bad people we will just ignore them unless we have to communicate. But the good people, we can at least fake a smile and say hello. I will only truly talk to people you say are okay to talk to. I trust your judgment." I say, trying to ease her annoyance. "Fine." Fen Grumbles and retreats. In Addicted to You movie, Audrey's biggest regret? A one-night stand with Floyd, her secret love for eight years. Despite his arranged marriage and his family's troubles, he kept rescuing her. She tho...
