*Maaz's point of view* "Maaz, your wallet!" Rabiya said and passed it to me when I was getting ready for office. Why is she following me like a tail? I thought and mentally smacked my forehead. "Maaz, take it!" She repeated when I didn't pay attention. "You don't have to do all these things, I can do my work on my own!'' I told her with petulance. I controlled myself to yell at her. "I know, you can do your work, but I like to do your work!" She replied sweetly. In those eight days, I understood that she was not a mature girl. She was still childish. After listening to the conversation between Rabiya and her family I decided to horse up to her responsibilities, yet I was not interested in her. I took my wallet from her and went to the dining room for breakfast. She marched following me and served me breakfast with a smile. Please don't try to be my wife, stay away from me, I requested in my thoughts. "Maaz, juice or milkshake?" she asked, showing her smile. "Shake," I unwillingly replied. Maaz you have to do something otherwise this girl will never leave you, my heart said and I nodded. I finished my breakfast, but she was still busy with hers. I got up from the chair to walk out of the house, and she got up as well. She held my laptop bag before I could. "Hm?!" I raised my brows in a questioning way. What does she want to do, why is she always behind me? I took my bag from her. She was about to say something but, I was feeling tired of her, so I left in a hurry. ''Yeah, I know what I have to do!" I said happily to myself as I drove towards the office. "Rabiya, you want to do my work, right? Now try and I'll tire you of that. And in the end, you will stop following me like a tail!" I said and an evil smile played on my face. The next morning, I started working on my plan. "Do you want anything else?" She asked me politely. I looked at the dining table. Since there was everything but no coffee, I asked for coffee. Miss Rabiya, I'll tire you with my work. After winning my first task, I decided to kill some time outside the house because I didn't want to ruin my entire day with Rabiya. I was driving the car but, Where do I have to go? my brain asked but I was answerless. After roaming here and there I ended up in a coffee shop. I ordered a coffee and took my seat. It was the same coffee shop where I would come with Rimsha. Maaz, what has had happened with you and your life? "Rimsha~" I muttered her name under my breath, and leaned back in the chair, and closed my eyes. "Maaz?" I heard a familiar voice. "Hm?" I turned to the owner of voice with a jerk and found Arhaam and Saad standing. Saad hugged me and they both took a seat. "Congratulations Maaz!" Arhaan said and I noticed satire in his tone. "For what?" I asked him while glaring. Saad was still silent. "Wow! Are you asking this? Don't be so naive. I'm congratulating you for your marriage!" Arhaan again fired a satire while rolling his eyes. "Arhaan, please!" Saad tried to stop him. "What do you think? Am I happy?" I replied in rage. "Why didn't you refuse to do Nikah with some other girl?" Arhaan asked. "First tell me how is she?" I controlled my anger and asked about Rimsha. "We don't know anything about her, After that marriage incident, she is not in our contact," Saad replied expressionlessly. "Is she fine?" I asked and Saad nodded, I took a breath of relief. "Haven't you tried to contact Rimsha?" Saad asked me and I just shook my head. "Why would he? He must be busy with his wife!" Arhaan continued his sarcasm. "Now, it's enough Arhaan!" I yelled at him and everyone who was sitting around looked at me in surprise. "Don't create a scene!" Saad said. Controlling our anger, we slowly nodded. "I don't have guts to talk to Rimsha," I honestly told Arhaan. This time, he didn't take me wrong. "Maaz, why did you agree for nikah?" Saad asked me. "Yaar, I don't know how and why I agreed for this Nikah but-" I said while clutching my temple. "Baba pleaded in front of me and I was helpless," I added and closed my eyes. "What will you do now?" Arhaan asked me and I was answerless. "I don't know, but I am tired. Rabiya is always behind me, she-" I was telling my problem to them, but, "Who Rabiya?" Arhaan asked in confusion. "Of course, his wife!" Before I could say anything Saad said to Arhaan. "Please, she is not my wife," I said to Saad in a peevish way while glaring at him. "If she is not your wife, then leave her!" Arhaan said to me and I looked at him with amazement. What! Leave her? Leave Rabiya? I was shocked by Arhaan's words. *** "Maaz, where were you? I was waiting for you!" Rabiya said joyfully but I was not interested in her so I didn't pay any attention. After meeting my friends, I was feeling upset. My mind ran for Rimsha. I remembered the moment when we bumped into each other in the shopping mall, and for the first time, I looked at her from that close. I was remembered the day I had proposed to her. I entered Rimsha's house with Arhaan and Kinza and she was already waiting for me, a beautiful smile played on her lips when she witnessed me. There was no one around her. I found the chance and held her hand. "Maaz, dad would be coming," She said while giving a sharp glare to me. "It would be better," I told her in a mischievous way. "How it would be?" She asked rudely but I like her every aspect. "If your dad would know about us, we won't have to hide our relationship," I replied and she smiled. "Maaz you are-" She was going to say something when we both got startled by someone clearing their throat. "Love birds, you are in a family gathering!" We both turned to the voice and found Kinza standing there. She said while pointing out towards our hands which we held tightly. "Kinza, you frightened us!" Rimsha told her and she giggled at our condition. "I want to talk to you," I whispered in Rimsha's ear and she nodded. Kinza was still looking at us. "Not here," I said slowly and she smiled. But when she left my hand and scooted to the other side, I felt bad. I was busy talking to Saad and Arhaan when my mobile beeped. Come on the lawn, I'm waiting for you, it was her message. A smile appeared on my face. "Where are you going?" Saad asked me when I left in the middle of the conversation. "I have important work," I replied and turned to go but, "Best of luck with your important work," Arhaan said and winked. "Hm, what?" She asked when I reached there. "I can't live without you," I said to her and kneeled in front of her. "Will you marry me?" drawing out a ring from my pocket I asked her and she nodded. "Maaz have you-" Rabiya's voice dragged me out from my dream. She stood in front of me. When I looked at her and my blood got a boil. "Get lost!" I roared in my highest pitch. I wanted to destroy everything, I stormed to the lawn after throwing the flower vase on the wall. But my mind flashed the image of Rabiya's face. Her eyes were wet and her face was dull. Why are you thinking about her? my heart asked. "What the hell is going on in my life?" I mumbled and sat down on the grass. This marriage ruined three lives. I am stuck between Rabiya and Rimsha. Rimsha is my love, my life but Rabiya is my- I said to myself while clenching my hair in irritation. I took out my mobile to call Rimsha but was again stopped by my soul. I felt broken from the inside, but no one understood me. I was dying each minute for my Rimsha but I didn't have any idea about her. Ammi and baba thought, I'm a machine, from which they can delete a file and install a new one. Forgetting Rimsha is impossible for me. Suddenly Arhaan's words began ringing in my ears. If she is not your wife, then leave her! Indeed, I don't want her in my life. I don't want to give her any right in my life but... Nikah is the biggest promise. Abdullah bhai's words rang in my ears. I was fighting with myself- after listening to Rabiya's conversation with her parents on the phone call I decided to horse up to her responsibilities. But still, my heart was beating for Rimsha, only for my Rimsha. Maaz, what is the Rabiya's fault in all this? She didn't do anything, she is stuck with you in this unwanted marriage as well! I was feeling sad about Rabiya. I made her cry. I didn't have any intention to do anything like that. But when I was angry, I always lost my patience. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. "Rabiya is my wife, I have to admit it. That girl is not at fault," I mumbled and nodded. "I'll never leave Rabiya. I'll never make her cry again. I'll never give her any problem," I told myself with determination. But I can't love her, my heart said and I nodded. I went to the bedroom and found her sleeping. I don't know why, but I moved towards her. She looked so innocent. Tear marks were visible on her cheeks. I'm sorry, I made you cry, I said to her in my heart. I was feeling pain for her. I caressed her head, and a few tears appeared in the corner of her eyes. She wasn't not sleeping. She was silently crying. Don't cry Rabiya, please don't, I told her in my heart while wiping her tears but she turned her side. I lay down on my side, but I was still thinking about our lives. I know, Rimsha and I can't be happy without each other, but why does this innocent girl suffer because of us? The human side of my soul said and I nodded. I stayed awake for almost the entire night and didn't even realize when fell asleep. Someone shook my leg, and I found Rabiya standing there. She was doing my work as usual but she was avoiding me. I was trying to gather some courage to talk to Rabiya when my phone began ringing. The name which flashed on the screen made my heart clench in sharp pain- Rimsha. I closed my eyes to take a deep breath and received the call. "Hello?" I said with all my courage. "Maaz..." Her slow whisper made my heart skip a beat. She was sobbing and I controlled my eyes from turning wet. "How are you?" I asked her. "Just alive without you," she said with great difficulty. I knew she cried after saying that, but I felt helpless. "How are you feeling?" She asked and her whisper told me that she was broken from inside. "Same here," I said in short as didn't want to say anything which hurt Rabiya. "Is someone around you?" She asked in the same painful voice. "Hm." "I'll talk to you later," I said with great pain and hung up the call. I was felt completely broken from the inside. I was thinking about Rimsha when Rabiya returned the mobile which I had bought for her. Maaz, first apologize to her, my mind said. I tried talking to her, but she didn't pay attention to me. What's wrong with her. Why she is not responding? I asked myself. Maaz, you always ignored her. And now, when she is ignoring you for the first time, why are you feeling upset? my soul scolded me. "Rabiya, sit," I ordered and she sat beside me. I wanted to apologize for my rage, but she was not listening to me. Instead, she began crying with hiccups. "Yo-you are...are g-getting late for...office," She made stood to walk away, but I held her hand. She was behaving like an offended kid. "Stop crying! I promise I'll never do that again," saying that I pulled her and rest her head on my shoulder. She was crying badly with hiccups, and I felt her arms around my chest. She hugged me tightly. I tried to free myself, but she didn't move a single inch. I felt like I was handling a crying baby. After breaking the hug I promised her while holding her hands. "You are my wife, my responsibility, I'll never give you any problem in your life, I promise. You are free to do anything. Do a lot of shopping, go where you want to go, live life according to your way. Do my work if you like it, but don't do it if you feel tired. You'll get every right on me as my wife-" I promised her from the bottom of my heart. I was saying something very important when I was stopped by the sound of footsteps. After consoling Rabiya, I went to the office, but I was anxious for Rimsha. "Should I call her or not?" I asked myself, and this time I dialed her number. "Maaz?" again a lifeless voice rang in my ears which made my heart sink. "Rimsha~" I couldn't manage to say anything else. "Maaz, don't you miss me these days?" she asked with a broken heart and muted tone. She was questioning my love. "I missed you every moment, but I didn't have the courage to face you," I put my point in front of her. "I-I...want to meet you," she said and I closed my eyes. I was trying to control myself but, "Okay, 1 p.m. at the same place," I couldn't control my heart, I was dying to see her. *** "Rimsha...." I reached there five minutes early, but she was already waiting for me. "Maaz, why did you do that? We love each other, but you marry some other girl?" This time, she was not crying but complaining rightfully. "What do you think, I did all these things with my pleasure?" I held her hand, I felt peace in my heart. I wanted Rimsha as my wife, but I got Rabiya instead. Why me? Ya Allah, why? My heart in pain. "Excuse me, if you don't mind, can we take a chair from here?" A feminine voice fell to my ears, but when I looked at her, I froze. I looked at Rimsha. She nodded at the girl, but the one standing behind her was Rabiya. She looked at me, then my hands. "Rabiya, let's go," the other girl told her, but she didn't move. "Rabiya..." That girl said after shaking her shoulder. I was looking at her face and Rimsha was looking at mine. "Hm...let's go." She masked a smile on her face and walked away.
