Life or Death Killer. I have to say, I never expected those p*****s to take action this fast. We were lucky that Violet spotted the scouts before they could catch us by surprise-but I'm pissed off. We managed to make it to the compound without any casualties, but the tension is running high. My heart is still pounding, making me wonder if I've developed some sort of heart defect. I've never reacted this badly to a "life or death" situation before. I glance Violet's way and know it's because of her. Because she was there-my heart is now a mess. That stubborn b***h wouldn't even get on my bike. Sure, she was right. It's safer to ride solo than with two people on one, but it still pissed me off that she wouldn't let me protect her. Right now, I want nothing more than to take her over my knee and s***k the s**t out of her. Sadly, that'll have to wait-Devil is calling everyone in for an emergency church meeting. Before heading in, I spare Violet one more glance. She ignores me, but I can tell she notices. In the beginning, she used to just irritate me. But now, I find her attitude strangely entertaining. Her whole standoffish demeanor is an arousing challenge. Women are easy. If I wanted them to, they'd spread their legs for me without a word. Violet? She'd probably kick my balls back into my stomach before even considering it-and being the freak that I am, that thought turns me on. Of course, I'd like to avoid testicular reconstruction surgery, but everything else about her just gets more and more exciting. "Deep in thought, brother?" A hand slaps my shoulder, and when I turn around, I find a serious-looking Wilhelm behind me. I shake his hand off and walk away. "Not really" I take a seat in my chair and ignore Wilhelm's burning gaze. Knowing him, he probably wants to talk it out or some s**1. He's like the club's unofficial psychologist-always giving advice and telling brothers when they f**k up. Most of the brothers see him as the wise one in the club. Personally, I wish he'd go be wise somewhere else for now Devil takes his seat at the head of the table and looks around, assessing all the brothers. "I think it's time we let those p*****s know they crossed the line, don't y'all think?" he starts after opening church Anger is written on all my brothers' faces. We don't know for sure yet, but everyone suspects the Road Riders played a big part in the raids We'd never had major problems with them before. Sure, we were < Life or Death +15 Points > rivals-both fighting to control most of Nevada-but opening fire in a mall without provocation? That kind of s**t doesn't happen between clubs without serious beef. "We gonna eliminate them, Pres?" Maker says, leaning his whole upper body on the table. "Of course we f*****g are. We'll be a joke if we let them walk all over us like this. I want heads rolling. But we're not gonna kill them all. Take the higher-ups-they've got some talking to do." We all nod in understanding. Pierce will want answers too. If we went on a killing spree without him, it'd only create more problems. "I want five prospects to stay behind when we head out. They need to have been prospecting for at least ten months. No newbies protecting my sister and the other family members." During the meeting, we go over who's going where, when we'll attack, and what to do about Pierce. Devil assigns Wilhelm and me to meet with him as soon as possible. A final Church meeting will be held after we make contact with Pierce-and then we roll out. In the back of my mind, I can't help wondering if it's really this simple. A small club attacking the biggest MC in Nevada and a drug lord? Doesn't sit right with me. But I keep my mouth shut, waiting until I can ask Devil about it one-on-one. The brothers are too hot-headed right now to think straight. Violet. I haven't even been back for ten minutes and I'm already bored out of my mind. I'm playing with the piercing in my cheek, staring around the bar. Most of the Soul Eaters are gone, and all the bikers are huddled up at their little "big boys" table. "Hey." I look up from my haze and find a girl standing close to me who I haven't seen before. She looks like a Soul Eater, but with more clothes on. She smiles and takes a seat beside me. "Devil's sister. Violet, right?" she says, leaning over the bar and grabbing a bottle of Jack from behind it. She pops the cap and takes a sip straight from the bottle-no glass. "Yeah… And you are?" She pushes the bottle toward me, tilting her head a bit when I take a sip. "Tessa Club Bee Mama. Promoted Soul Eater. Don't worry-I'm not into being an Old Lady or f*****g patched c**k, so I won't try to scratch your eyes out anytime soon." She grins and leans back on her elbows, relaxing against the bar. "Sorry I never talked to you before. I was kind of busy." "Why were you a Soul Eater if you're not interested in becoming an Old Lady?" I ask, handing the bottle back and watching her take another swig "I was in a pretty bad situation when I was younger. You know Maker?" I shrug "I know the name but forgot the face" Life of Death +15 Points > She laughs a little and pulls out a pack of cigarettes, offering me one. I shake my head and grab one from my own pack. "Anyway, he pretty much saved me. He's like a father figure now. But the rule of the club is that you have to earn your place-so I became a Soul Eater. I didn't want to be Maker's Old Lady. That would've been like ******g my dad. Gross." She shudders dramatically, then inhales a long drag of her cigarette. "That sucks." "Nah, I like s*x anyway, and most of the guys are nice. You learn quickly which brothers to avoid. It only took me a year to get promoted. Now I just watch over the girls and do most of the cooking. Being promoted means I can say no if I don't want to f**k a brother." "Good for you," I reply dryly. "Was your situation really that bad for you to open your legs for men?" Tessa stares at me for a moment and bites her lip. "Kinda." I nod. I understand what it means not to want to talk about your past. "Who are you?" Haru appears next to me, fresh out of the shower. She eyes Tessa with curiosity, grabbing another chair to sit beside me. "Tessa. Club Bee Mama. Promoted Soul Eater," Tessa repeats. Haru gives a quiet "Ah," then grabs the bottle of Jack from the bar and takes a sip. "I'm Haru," she introduces herself, giving a cautious smile. "The girl who also shall not be touched," Tessa says dramatically, a big grin spreading across her face. "What?" Haru asks, confused. "You've got the same status as Violet, right? Off-limits to the brothers." Tessa laughs, watching Haru process. Before I can say anything, Tessa leans in with a mischievous smile. "Also because you've caught the eye of a brother or two." Haru grins back at her, taking another sip of Jack and wiggling a little in her chair. "Hey Violet?" "Yes, Harur Mischief gleams in her eyes as she glances from me to the stripper poles in the middle of the bar. "Wanna dance with me?" "No" I stand up-basically ready to bult-but Haru jumps on my back like a monkey
