Chapter 18 Love Is The Air I hastily got dressed and then walked over to the dining area. My eyes were shimmering, my face was glowing, and my heart was leaping with joy. I was over the moon to finally have my Mom and the love of my life. Mom was arranging breakfast on the table with the help of a maid. I dashed towards her and embraced her from behind, placing my chin on her shoulder. “I'm so happy, Mom." I pressed my chin against hers and squealed with joy. “Feelings are mutual, sweetie.” She smiled broadly and placed a soft kiss on my cheek. Breakfast with my mother went well; we talked, and she inquired about my life and friends. I was taken aback by how much she already knew about me. I always had the wrong image of her, even though she was secretly taking care of me. I just wanted to forget about my past and start a new life with Jonathan and mum, and, of course, my friends, because they were the only ones who were there for me when there was nothing but darkness in my life. I stepped out of the house. My lips curved into a beatific smile as my gaze fell on Jonathan. He was standing, leaning against his car, and when he saw me, he smiled heartily. As I rushed over to him, he gently lifted me from the floor by holding my waist and lovingly sucked both of my lips together. His lips brushing against mine was a truly incredible sensation, and a current swept down my spine. As he put me down on the floor, we both beamed at each other, losing ourselves in each other’s eyes. All of a sudden, he swiftly pinned me against the car and captured my lips by cupping my face, which caused my eyes to widen in amazement. I was taken aback because it was unexpected. It took me only a few seconds to match his kiss by wrapping my arms around his neck and grabbing his hair. I was struggling to keep up with him as he kissed me so passionately and deeply, his fingers sliding into my hair and his thumbs remaining on my neck. After all, he was a vampire, so I wasn't surprised by his speed. My vampire! When I called him mine, my heart was filled with joy and my lips drew up to a smile. My entire body was on fire with intense desire. Despite the fact that I was losing my breath, I still wanted him to keep going. I was savouring the way his lips were sucking mine and his tongue was exploring every inch of my mouth. I was completely absorbed in the kiss. We pulled apart after a few seconds. My eyes were still closed, and I was still panting from our passionate and intense kiss. As I slowly opened my eyes, he took my hand in his and moved it up, looking deeply into my eyes. "You look stunning today in this pink coat, my angel." He complimented me and placed a soft kiss on my knuckles. My eyelashes lowered as I smiled with delight. As it was winter, I was dressed in a pink knee-length blazer and longboats. I blushed as I looked at him through my eyelashes and spoke in hushed tones. "It's the effect of your love." He grabbed my chin with his thumb and fingers before pulling my face up to make me look at him. He leaned in and whispered against my lips, "I love this effect." He kissed my lips chastely, stealing my heart all over again. "Now we shall go to college." He spoke, pulling away from me, and I nodded. Still, my cheeks were crimson red from blushing. As he opened the door of his car for me like a gentle man, I smiled at him with glee and settled inside. He sat in the driver's seat and began the car’s engine by turning the key. During the car ride, we didn't converse much; instead, I kept staring at his handsome face and sometimes out the window. My heart was giddy with joy, so I had a constant smile on my face. I hadn't felt this good in a long time. I felt as if I were dreaming with my eyes open. My brow furrowed in confusion as his car came to a halt a little away from the college, rather than in the college parking lot. "Jonathan, why did you pull over here?" As I asked, shifting my confused gaze from the window to him, his brows creased in tension. "Because my enemy is here, and I don't want anyone to find out that we are together because she could hurt you.” He told me in a solemn tone, taking my hand in his. ‘Who is his enemy? Why will they hurt me?’ My eyes were mused on him. As he spoke in a serious tone, I came out of my thought. "Mia, are you listening to me? Nobody should find out about our relationship. Nobody means nobody.” I gave him a slight nod. "Can't I tell my friends about us as well?" I inquired because I desperately wanted to tell them about him. I pouted sadly as he shook his head. "No, you can't even tell Nora and Amir about us because my enemy has the ability to change her physical appearance; she can transform into Nora or Amir in a split second, so don't trust anyone, not even your friends." He strictly informed me. After listening to his words, my eyes widened in amazement because magic occurs in the actual world as well, it is something I didn't know. “Does she have the ability to transform into you as well?” He nodded as I inquired. I added, “then we should set a code for us, Jonathan.” He suddenly kissed my cheek, and my eyes dilated in surprise. "Every time we meet, I'll give you a kiss on the cheek. This is our code." As he told me, a broad smile spread across my face. I lifted my face and placed a quick kiss on his cheek. "And I'll kiss your cheek in response." We beamed at each other. "By the way why did she get this power?" As I asked, my eyes glinted with curiosity. "Mia, every vampire possesses a unique special ability. Some vampires have the ability to read people's minds just as some can temporarily freeze time." I was listening to him keenly. I was astounded to learn all of this and became even more interested in knowing more about vampires. My eyes shimmered with excitement as I asked him. “Do you have any special power?” As he nodded, I arched my brows at him. “What?” "I possess the ability to glimpse the future. If something bad is going to happen to you, I'll have a vision just a few minutes ago." My eyes widened in astonishment, and I asked in disbelief. “Seriously?” “Yes.” He nodded at me. ‘So, therefore, whenever I'm in trouble, he arrives in time to save me. Everything is becoming crystal clear to me now.' I nodded, understanding everything. "But that doesn't mean you'll always get yourself into trouble, Mia. You know, when you jumped off the cliff, I was in another state, and it was extremely difficult for me to arrive on time, but thanks to God, I arrived on time and saved you." He chastised me, and I listened mutely to him, lowering my eyelashes, mortified because I knew it was my fault, and I shouldn't endanger my life. "I now want a promise from you that you will not attempt such stunts again." He extended his hand in front of me, his solemn gaze fixed on me. I glanced at his hand before moving my eyes to him. "I promise." I smiled at him and placed my hand over his. As he clasped my hand, I continued, “but if you abandon me in the future, I promise that I will not be afraid to try these stunts again." As I warned him, he shook his head in disbelief, seeing my bravery. “You're unbelievable, Angel." I smiled mischievously. "We shall go to college; we're not here to talk, remember?" As he reminded me, I realised our car was parked near the college. "All right, Jonathan, see you in class." I cupped his face in my hands and pecked his lips. He stopped me by holding my hand as I was about to unbuckle my seatbelt. "Never, ever do that again." As he spoke in a solemn tone, my brows furrowed in bewilderment because I didn’t understand his words. "What?" I asked, raising my brows at him. "Never peck my lips like this because it arouses my desires." My eyes popped open in surprise as he told me, and my cheeks turned bright red. I heard him laugh behind me as I ran out of the car after giving him a slight nod. ‘Fuck! What is he doing to me? In my entire life, I have never flushed this much. This man—sorry, I mean this vampire is driving me insane, and I love it.' I walked into college with a grin on my face, utterly engrossed in the thoughts of my vampire.
