Chapter 16 Our love Triumphed He clasped my face and lifted my head from the pillow, bringing me closer to his face. As his breath caressed my face, a shiver ran down my spine. We locked our intense gazes on each other. We were so close that it was burning my body with untamed desire. "Mia, I love you so much." As he finally confessed from the bottom of his heart, a solitary tear of contentment streamed down my cheek. He continued, wiping away my tears. "You have no idea how much I love you. Before meeting you, I was extremely lonely." After hearing his pure and honest confession, I felt a great sense of serenity and closed my eyes, and my lips curled into a contented smile. I couldn't believe he finally confessed his feelings. I felt as if I were dreaming and stared at him in disbelief. I clasped his face in my hands. "Then forget about danger. Jonathan, our love is powerful. We'll get through this together. We will fight together. You must understand that living apart is not the solution to the problem." I did my best to persuade him that he should stop pushing me away from him. I didn't want to lose him at any cost. "Mia, I love you. I just don't want to jeopardise your life. You will be burned if you come too close to me." He warned me, and I smiled at him, deeply gazing at him with no fear in my eyes. "I'm not afraid of being burned, but rather of living without you with an emptiness in my heart. Please, Jonathan, this time, don't leave me alone." Tears streamed down my cheeks as I pleaded, biting my lower lip. "Don't cry, please." He held my face and whispered before sucking my tears softly. I closed my eyes, savouring the sensation of his lips on my skin. His touch was divine for me. He gently kissed my eyelids, taking away all of my pain, and as I opened my eyes, he breathed. “I’m not going anywhere.” Listening to his words, a smile of relief touched my lips, and as I moved closer to him, he captured my lips, startling me. Our lips began to move mechanically. Jonathan kissing me twice tonight was something I never expected to happen. The kisses came as a surprise, as did his confession. I felt as if I were dreaming with my eyes open. He was kissing me so gently that I couldn't believe he was a vampire. I took hold of the collar of his shirt and gave him an equally loving and gentle kiss. We sucked each other's lips chastely, with all of our love pouring into the kiss. Our kiss was pure as our love, filled with immense love and no lust. He came above me and straddled me, his lips never leaving mine. He kissed me as if his life depended on it. Through this kiss, I felt as if he was kissing my soul. I had never felt so good. He wasn't just stealing the kiss; he was stealing my heart and soul as well. After a few minutes, we drew apart, breathing heavily and gazing intensely into each other’s eyes. I could clearly see the immense love he had for me in his brown eyes. I was aware that these eyes had witnessed a tremendous amount of suffering, and I could see my future in them. "Will you abandon me again?" I asked the same question again, breaking the silence, because I was afraid of losing him and wanted his promise that he would never leave me. "Never, because your love has melted my heart, Mia, and now I have understood that if our love is strong enough, we will stay together until the end, and living apart is not the solution. We will spend the rest of our lives together, fighting back against all problems." My eyes shone with joy, and I threw my arms around him and hugged him tightly, drawing him closer to me, smiling widely. "You know, Jonathan, today is the best day of my life because I have my mother and my love with me. I never want this day to be over.” I giggled with glee, burying my face in his chest as he gripped me tighter and pulled me closer. His arms were my true home because I felt so peaceful and safe in them. "I'm glad to see you happy." He smiled broadly at me as we pulled apart. He lay on one side of me, facing me, his lips drawn up in a beatific smile, and I admired him. His smile touched my heart. With a smile on his face, he looked more tempting. I was ecstatic because I had been wishing to see him smile ever since my gaze was drawn to him. I lay, facing him and whispered. “Your smile is beautiful, Jonathan. It is very precious to me. Always keep smiling.” We continued to gaze at each other in silence for a while, drowning ourselves in each other's eyes. "When did you fall in love with me, Jonathan?" I enquired him, breaking the silence, and he quickly closed his eyes, as if he was remembering that day. I looked at him with anticipation, eager to know when he fell in love with me. "During your summer holiday, when you went to your beach house." My eyes widened in amazement as he replied after opening his eyes and giving me a winsome smile. ‘What, at the beach house, he fell in love with me? How? When?’ I wondered, staring at him in astonishment. I had no idea the first time he saw me at the beach house. "What are you talking about? I can't believe you saw me there. Was it love at first sight?" I inquired with zest. I was so eager to find out everything that my eyes were glistening with anticipation. "Nope." As he answered, I pouted at him. “Then what was it?” I arched my brows at him. "It's a long story, and when the right time comes, I'll tell you the whole thing, but not today. Right now, all I want to do is live in the present moment and relish it without dwelling on the past." I gave him a slight nod, understanding that if he didn't want to share something, there could be a reason, and I didn't want to force him. At that time, I didn't want to know anything because his presence was enough for me. For me, the fact that he was with me and openly expressed his love for me was more than sufficient. I couldn't put into words how joyful I was to be with him and converse with him like that. It was pure bliss. "What is your age?" As I asked, my eyes glinted with curiosity. "I'm one hundred and twenty-five years old." Knowing that he was older than a hundred years caused my eyes to widen in astonishment. "Vampires never die, it's amazing." As I squealed with delight, he just admired me with a smile on his face. His intense gaze drove me insane and caused me to blush. "Am I your first love?" When I asked, he closed his eyes, as if he was recalling something again, which meant I wasn't his first love, which hurt me. "Oh god, Mia, do you want to know everything about me in just one night?” I nodded. "I'm curious, Jonathan, because these questions have been running through my head for a few weeks and driving me insane." “Have some patience; when the time is right, I'll explain everything to you by myself. However, one thing I want you to know is that there are a lot of things you don't know and won't be able to digest right away. When you're ready, I'll tell you everything, I swear." He promised me while gently caressing my hair and gazing deeply into my eyes. I just smiled and nodded, but he had no idea how eager I was to know every little thing about him. I was dead from the way he was stroking my hair! He was making me crazy with all of his little displays of affection. With this new Jonathan, I experienced incredible heavenly sensations. "Can I ask you one more thing, please?" As I asked politely, he smiled and nodded, allowing me to ask the question. "Did you join college with a specific goal in mind?" I inquired out of curiosity. He gave a nod. "Before you wonder why? I want to let you know that you were the cause. I recently learned that my enemy joined your college.” As he told me, I made an O-shaped mouth. 'So he enrolled in my college to protect me.' Knowing this made my heart leap with joy. Moreover, this truth was hard to take in because earlier, he used to treat me as if I were inconsequential. "Jonathan, you know I used to always feel like something was missing. I was always lonely, and when I met you, I realised that you were the missing piece of my life. I fell in love with you the moment I first laid my eyes on you. The moment I met you, my heart told me that you were the missing piece I had been searching for to complete me and bring light into my gloomy life. Jonathan, I truly love you." We both stroked each other's cheeks as I confessed my love from the bottom of my heart while gazing deeply into his eyes. “I love you more, Mia.” He responded by gazing at me with an equally strong expression of love. We closed our eyes and lost ourselves in each other as he touched his forehead to mine. There was such a feeling of peacefulness at that moment that I couldn't put it into words; all of my stress and tension had dissipated. Finally, I had him, my love, and our love triumphed.
