Hidden Mission: Clean-Up Goblin Tribe (Minor) completed, reward: one white treasure chest. I was wondering if there were any chests in the goblin tribe, they would have made them incredibly dirty, right?" Du You remarked understandingly. There are several kinds of missions in the Derived World, but usually, there’s always a main quest. This quest is quite simple, but the consequences of not completing it can be dire. Then there are tasks posted by other people, these tasks have all kinds of rewards, or they might have none. It completely depends on what the task giver is willing to provide, and of course, it’s okay if you don’t complete them. The last type is hidden quests, these kind of quests don’t appear openly. They only show up after completing certain specific conditions, and the rewards are directly given by the Derived World. Hidden quests are special, in that some actions may trigger them, while others may not. In other words, this time destroying a goblin tribe turned out to be a mission, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that the same will happen next time. If someone else destroys the tribe, they may or may not trigger a hidden mission, it’s kind of vexing that way. You could say hidden missions are a gratifying surprise. Next, Du You saw something at the bottom of the panel, and the corner of his mouth twisted into a smile. "So that’s how it is, my basic swordsmanship has reached level 7, no wonder it felt so strange earlier, I knew I was a genius." After cultivating for over a decade, his swordsmanship had all but become ingrained in him. On the surface, it seemed like it was at level 6, but in reality the foundation was not quite so simple. After a grueling fight, his accruing practice suddenly leveled up. The only unfortunate thing was that his unexpectedly maxed out meditation skill still had no effect. Or rather, his current situation didn’t afford him any opportunity to make use of the effects of the meditation skill. It seemed like a big waste. Level 7 swordsmanship was considered high tier, it was incredibly helpful to him, especially at this stage. The chest wouldn’t exist here forever, so he needed to open it as soon as possible. Du You moved forward, opened the chest, and was greeted by a vast flood of white light. "One hundred white crystal coins, the Derived World sure is generous," Du You muttered to himself. After hunting nearly seven hundred goblins from the tribe, Du You only had roughly three hundred white crystal coins. With this reward, his total increased by a third. Inside the chest was also a goblin statue. Goblin Statue: World coordinates, can be used to enter Goblin Forest in the eastern part of the Yalan Continent (3/3) "So these are world coordinates, well that’s good news." Du You’s eyes lit up. His arrival in this world had been utterly random. With this goblin statue, he would be able to reenter this world. This world seemed massive, it was definitely of great value. He could look it up once he gets back, perhaps he could find out what the deal was with this world. Moreover, even if he didn’t use it, he could sell it for a hefty price. There were three uses in total. The price of these world coordinates varied depending on the level of the world. Shaking his head, Du You put away the statue, and continued peering into the chest, only to find it empty except for a single dagger. Broken Dagger: Sharpness 1 (Pale White) "Equipment from the Derived World sure is hard to come by, at least it’s a knife, right?" Du You muttered, shaking his head as he put the knife away. He didn’t need it, so he could just sell it, although its potential price might not be very high. Now it was time to open the light clusters. Du You opened each one, most of which contained some white crystal coins. Only one cluster held something different, a fruit. This fruit had the ability to detoxify, and Du You stored it away for future use. Finally, the light cluster from the Dark Goblin. Inside this cluster, white crystal coins were also the prime content. "Seriously, didn’t Teacher Li say that white crystal coins aren’t easy to come by? Why do I have so many of them here?" This made for more than 400 coins. If they were all used to level up, he could increase his own level by several tiers. If he wasn’t trying to keep a low profile, he could have exposed his strength long ago. To be honest, if he didn’t have two professions and a bit of luck, he wouldn’t have been able to accomplish such task. For anyone else, just completing the main mission itself would not have been an easy task. After pocketing the white crystal coins, what remained was a transparent purple orb. It looked similar to a glass ball. But inside the glass ball, there was a special arrow pointing in one direction. Profession Change Quest: You’ve obtained a clue for profession change. Follow the arrow and find the Mysterious Land to complete the first phase. Upon seeing the prompt on the panel, Du You’s eyes widened in surprise, "Profession change quest? You’ve got to be kidding; this thing is actually a profession change quest?" Du You was stunned disbelief. They are referred to as "Professionals" in outer society because each of them has their own profession. Most of these professions are obtained within the Derived Worlds that have already been developed. Some special inheritances encountered in the outer world often lead to very rare professions. Some of these professions are weak, while others are quite powerful. Whether to change professions or not, that’s eventually up to one’s own judgement. But these profession change clues are indeed quite precious. Since he got it, he couldn’t just leave it be. "Good professions are not so easy to come by. I have no background so I can’t afford too many. Rather than changing to a common profession, why not take a chance? Opportunities don’t come often," Du You reflected, making up his mind. "But, maybe tomorrow. I’m not up to the task right now, it could be dangerous," he mused. Du You then turned to leave the place, the smell in the goblin camp was frankly, unbearable. Suddenly, Du You’s eyes lit up, "I can’t leave empty-handed, there’s this thing," he said, picking up the magic staff that was in the hands of the dead Dark Goblin. Dark Magic Staff: Enhances dark magic, comes with the skill Dark Arrow, cooldown time of 2 minutes (White, Non-Equippable) Though it wasn’t an equipment, in this world, it could still be used. The Dark Arrow— he had seen its power with his own eyes. Even though it had a cooldown of two minutes, it would be enough in a critical moment. Now he could finally make use of his meditation skill. He hoisted the staff onto his shoulder, picked up one of the deer from the goblin’s hunting pile, and left the campsite. The goblins’ food was mostly inedible, but their game surely was. He could finally savor some roasted venison, much better than the dry rations he usually had. Du You left the place carrying the two animals.
