---- Chapter 19 "I'm here," Carl shouted as he rushed out of the room. He ran right into Julian and Angela, who were holding hands while standing at the counter to fill out a form. Neither one noticed his presence. They were here to collect the special event permit for their wedding ceremony. At last, Carl had to accept that Angela was being serious the whole time. Still in disbelief, he approached them and questioned, "What are you doing?" Shielding Angela defensively, Julian said with a frown, "We're getting married, so we came to get the event permit for our wedding. This is none of your business." That last sentence struck a nerve with Carl. "T won't allow it!" He came to the abrupt realization that he'd madea huge mistake. No one other than Angela could ever love him and support him the way she did. Unmoved, Angela continued to complete the ---- necessary paperwork. Carl wanted to snatch the document away from her and rip it to pieces, but the look in Julian's eyes terrified him. He dared not move from his position. All he could do was plead for Angela's forgiveness. "I made a mistake, Angela. I made a terrible mistake! Can't you forgive me out of consideration for the fact that we've been dating for over ten years? Don't you worry. This time, I'll marry you and be loyal to you. As for Lucy... 1 won't pay any attention to that bitch ever again!" His jaw clenched at the mention of Lucy. It looked as if he wanted to murder her. Sneering, Julian exposed Carl by asking, "Did you decide on your own to forget about Lucy, or is it only because you found out she'd betrayed you, so you're back to take advantage of Angela because you know she's kind?" Carl had no words. He froze up for a while but awkwardly ignored Julian. Looking at Angela, he continued begging, ''Come back to me, Angela. Let's live happily ever after..." ---- Regardless of what he said, Angela never bothered to look him in the eye. Julian continued to stand in front of her defensively, making sure Carl didn't get a single chance to approach her. Once the two settled the paperwork, they left the police station at once, while Carl was held back by the police officer who came running after him when he left the room. Along the ride home, Angela felt a sense of ease that was entirely new to her. She smiled as she stared out the window. "Do you feel happy today?" Julian asked. That was what he cared about the most right now. Nodding, Angela replied, "I'm very happy. I've never been this happy before, but I do wonder about something." "Why don't you tell me what it is? Maybe I can help you figure it out," Julian responded patiently. "T can't figure out why I fell in love with a guy like him. Everyone says love makes us blind and foolish.
