---- Chapter 11 Carl sounded pissed. He was genuinely perplexed by Angela's actions. Meanwhile, after having argued with Carl countless times now, Angela felt both physically and emotionally exhausted. She couldn't be bothered to try and talk sense into someone who refused to listen. "I know what I'm doing," she said coolly. "I've never been more clear-headed than I am now. I wish you and Lucy all the best, and I hope you two get the child you want soon." Without waiting for Carl to continue shouting at her, she dropped the call and turned off her phone. The screen turned dark, symbolically putting an end to the past as well. Feeling relaxed, Angela got up and went to the washroom. She splashed her face with some water and touched up her makeup, which had smudged a bit after the meal earlier. When she returned to her seat, she saw an anxious- looking Julian talking to a waiter. Did something happen? The waiter noticed her first. Pointing in her direction, ---- he said to Julian, "Please don't panic, sir. She's back now, isn't she?" His remark left Angela clueless. She was just about to ask what happened when Julian turned around and hugged her tightly. With his tall figure and broad shoulders, he easily shrouded her as he embraced her. Her instinctive reaction was to push him away, but he said hoarsely, "Thank goodness." Angela's face was still pressed against his shoulder as she asked in confusion, "What's up with you?" "T'm glad you're okay," Julian said instead. Still holding her close, he continued shakily, "I was so scared. I thought you started having regrets and decided to sneak away to avoid being my wife. I thought you'd never come back..."' He'd returned to the café right when Angela had gone to the washroom. The table was deserted, and when none of his calls went through to her phone, he began panicking. It was the waiter's first time encountering a couple who behaved in such a dramatic fashion after only a few minutes of separation. Since everything was fine ---- now, he shrugged and went back to work. Cheeks turning pink, Angela softly reminded Julian, " We're in public right now. You should let go of me. Also... I'm having a hard time breathing." Julian seemed deathly afraid that she might leave. He was squeezing her so hard that it was as if he wanted to become one with her. "Sorry about that." Julian came back to his senses and quickly released Angela before observing her closely. He heaved a sigh of relief once he confirmed that she seemed fine, other than being a little red in the face. Angela inhaled deeply. She could finally breathe properly again. "It's fine." Julian glanced at her phone. She kept it beside her, but he knew it had been turned off. Thus, he quickly deduced the reason for that. "Did your ex-boyfriend harass you again?" His gaze turned icy at the mention of Carl, but his tone remained warm as he said to Angela, "Don't worry about a thing. Just leave everything to me. I'll take care of it."
