---- Ironically, he had bought that secluded villa in an area completely devoid of surveillance for Jessica years ago to give her peace of mind. The entire neighborhood was a blind spot. Now, he could only hate his past self for it. Jessica had given up by this point. She refused to say another word. Just then, Samuel received a call from the police. Even though I hadn't been able to say much during that call for help, it had been enough. They had tracked the location of the call and launched a search. Eventually, they found my decaying body in the basement. Samuel's hands trembled violently as he clutched his phone. "What did you say? The basement?" he asked. "Okay. We're coming right now." The phone slipped from his fingers and hit the ground. Without another word, he bolted out. After glancing around, Dad handed Mom over to the security guard and instructed him to keep an eye on Jessica. Then, he rushed out after Samuel. By the time the two of them arrived, the police had already set up a perimeter. ---- "This is strange," one officer said to another. " There's a baby's body too. Could they be mother and child?" Samuel arrived just in time and overheard those words, but he didn't think much of it.
