2 ##Chapter 2 Her eyes flickered, feigning innocence: "I just threw it on casually... I thought it was fine." Just then, Axel walked in. He saw Ella frantically unbuttoning the shirt, and his expression darkened. "Grace! What are you doing? You're upsetting her-can't you see she's pregnant?" I laughed coldly: "Of course I can see that. But what I see more clearly is her wearing your most intimate shirt, making coffee in my kitchen." "It's just a shirt!" Axel reached for my arm, trying to calm me. "Can't you be rational? She's pregnant and emotionally unstable-you should be understanding." "Rational?" I shook off his hand, my voice sharp as an ice blade. "Axel, when you went into her room last night at midnight, singing to her and comforting her until dawn-where was your rationality then? You're not her husband." The air suddenly froze. Ella's eyes reddened as she gently placed her hand on Axel's arm, whispering tremulously: "It's all my fault. I shouldn't have put you in this position..." Tears welled in her eyes, as if she were the victim here. Axel immediately shielded her, glaring at me over her shoulder: "Look what you've done to her!" "I'm only doing this for my brother's sake-she's his wife, and this is his child." From the first day she moved in, Axel had used this line repeatedly to justify himself. As if putting the label of "responsibility" on it meant I had to accept everything. I stared at this scene, my chest feeling torn apart. Years of patience and compromise completely shattered in this instant. My voice was ice-cold: "Then go ahead and fulfill your responsibility. We're getting divorced." Axel froze for a moment, then laughed-a ridiculous, grating sound: "Divorce? Stop being dramatic. What do you want? A new car? Jewelry? A limited edition bag? Pick whatever you want-I can give it all to you." Ella gasped, tears spinning in her eyes: "Stop fighting, I'll leave... it's all my fault..." She stepped back, like a wounded little animal. Just as she expected, Axel immediately reached out to stop her, his eyes anxious: "Don't say foolish things. You're not going anywhere." I couldn't take it anymore. The crack in my heart finally shattered completely. "If she won't leave, I will." My voice was cold and resolute. "I'll have someone draft the papers. Property division, house ownership-" I paused, my voice sharp enough to cut through air, "You should know that Franklin Entertainment's funding has always been controlled by the James family. I won't lose to you." Axel's face changed drastically as he growled urgently: "Grace! Stop this nonsense-divorce? Impossible!" I looked directly into his eyes, as if pronouncing a cold verdict: "This is a judgment, not a negotiation." Discover our latest featured short drama reel. Watch now and enjoy the story!
