The party is set to be hosted in the vast garden. The foods and wines are placed in one corner and the dance floor is set on other side. People started to arrive and soon enough the entire area is filled with people. "You should eat." Franklin's voice startled me. I turned to look up at him. Why does this guy keep following me around anyways? He's been like this ever since the whole "punishment" thing happened where Alexander almost killed my dad. What is he trying to prove? I wonder. Maybe feed on me. "I will." I said shortly then he left me. After another half an hour or so, I finally decided to give up . I sighed as I made my way towards the food. Everyone was now talking and laughing, enjoying their night while I simply stood gawking at the gate. As I stood near the table, my eyes caught a sight of a guy who's wearing hoodie, standing near the gate ,looking at the palace. Why doesn't he come in? What is he doing here? I wondered. I tried to focus on him to see his face clearly. "Hello miss, do you want anything to eat?" a butler asked, blocking my vision. "No, thank you." I said and started to walk up to the gates so that i can see him. But a hand grabbed my shoulders as I turned to face him.David. I sighed in relief. "I'm just going out for a quick walk." I lied with a kind of annoyance in my voice, knowing that he was about to lecture me. "I don't think that's a good idea. After what did last week, Alex specifically told me to keep an eye on you." Alexander's name somehow tickled my nerves as I raised my eyebrow at him. "Well, he is not here now, is he?" I countered back and he mumbled something to himself before shaking his head. "Katy-" "It's just a quick walk, it's not like I am going to run away. I promise I won't try anything funny. Please David, I need some time alone." I spoke softly and his expression grew softer at my words. "Fine. But be back in 15 minutes." he said and I nodded with a smile. I quickly turned around and walked out towards the gate before turning to my left as I tried to catch the sight of the mysterious looking guy, who was standing near the gate before. There was something about him makes me curious at the moment. I have no idea why I've taken this sudden interest in someone I only caught a glimpse of. He's not in the spot I saw him earlier. He was probably some normal guy passing by, so why should I look for him now? After looking around the area one more time, I am about to give up and get back inside when I noticed a dark figure, standing near a huge oak tree. His blue eyes sparkled even under the shadows of the tree and perhaps that was the reason why I found him so alluring. I started walking up to him as he leaned against the tree. "Hey." He greeted, standing up straight and I stopped to take a good look at his face. There was something awfully familiar about his eyes but I can't remember what it was. "Hey, are you here for the event?" I asked, straight away as I felt no need to beat around the bush. a dark chuckle escaped his mouth as he shook his head. I doubted his response but decided to ignore it. "Why are you here?" he asked and I smiled weakly. "I am the chosen bride of Alexander." was all I said and he immediately nodded . "How is it like in there?" he asked and I rolled my eyes as I stood next to him, leaning against the tree as well. " Pure torture. It's like burning hell." I stated bluntly and he laughed as I chuckled. I don't know why but I feel like this stranger and I have a connection already. Maybe it's because I haven't spoken to a normal human being in such a long time that I'm starting to take comfort even with strangers? Elena and James left the very next day for some other place. I don't know the reason though. Hopefully she will be fine. "I'm sure it's not that bad ." He said as I raised a eyebrow but I shook my head. "How? I thought it was every girl's dream to be chosen." he said in a mocking tone to which I responded with a scoff. "It's not every girls dream to be a personal blood-bag and get dumped afterwards. I hate it here to be honest, especially when he's there. I wanted to leave." I mumbled the last two words and I heard him clear his throat. "Who is that , princess?" he asked and I looked up to meet his eyes as I blushed at his nickname. "It doesn't matter." I muttered, not really wanting to talk about Alexander or even think about him. "Well, if you hate it so much then why don't you leave?" he asked and I sighed heavily. "I tried to but ended up caught," I mumbled, the memory of my dad lying on the ground came through my mind and I shook them away. "It didn't turn out well." I finished as I saw him slipping his hands inside his pockets. "Well, if you can't run away, there's always another plan for you to execute, right?" he said casually. I looked at him as if asking what the plan might be. "Use Alexander Ivanov as your escape route." he finished and my eyes widened at his words. "How do you know his name?" I asked but he just chuckled before taking a gum out. "Who doesn't, sweetheart?" he asked back "Tricking Alexander? It's highly impossible." I muttered, remembering how he had treated me so far. " If you try, I'm sure you can come up with something to get out" he said and I looked up to meet his intense gaze, contemplating whether I should actually give this "plan" a chance. "I didn't catch your name?" I asked, changing the subject. He looked at me as a smirk appeared on his face . "I have to go but I'll catch you later okay?" he said quickly before walking away, completely ignoring my question. I am about to call him but before I could, a hand grabbed me by my wrist . When I turned to look up, its his majesty Alexander, who is now frowning at me. Five days since I've last seen him but his expressions never changed , not even once. "What are you doing here?" he questioned, his eyes boring into mine as I instantly started to feel uncomfortable. "I was only talking a walk. I told David" I answered quickly and he gave me a look, as if he was doubting my words. "You're not supposed to be here." his voice turned all soft before releasing my hands and tugging at the end of his White, long sleeved shirt that fitted him very well. "Sorry, I was just talking to-" I stopped when I noticed that nobody was there anymore. "Talking to whom?" Alexander asked and I looked around in confusion before turning back to look at him. " Just leave it." I responded, wondering how that guy was able to run away so quickly. "What do you mean "just leave it"? Were you talking to someone here or-" "Alex, bring her! The speech is about to begin!" David's yelling cut him off . I mentally sighed in relief. Alexander groaned as we both quickly walked up to the gate before I stopped to look around that huge oak tree again. Where did that guy go anyways? I didn't even get to know his name. "Something wrong?" Franklin asked worriedly. I snapped my head towards him before shaking my head quickly, ignoring Alexander's intense stare at me. I didn't do anything wrong so there was no need for me to be scared of him..right? Right. "Is it done?" Franklin asked Alexander and I watch him shake his head. "It wasn't easy." Alexander muttered . I stared at them in confusion not knowing what they're talking about. "You were gone for quite a while, brother." David said and I mentally rolled my eyes. "Too bad it didn't stay that way." I barely muttered under my breath, completely forgetting the fact that Vampires were able to hear almost anything. "Too bad your attitude has gotten worse!" Alexander spat, grabbing my cheeks roughly. "You guys, stop. People are going to notice." Franklin groaned and Alexander released me from his grip . "Also, about that person you were talking to earlier," Alexander started causing me nervous. "Did they say anything?" he asked and I bit my bottom lip before shaking my head. I'm surprised to see that he still haven't let it go. It's not like he even saw that guy so why was he so curious anyways? "No." I said shortly and he took a step forward before bringing his lips closer to my ears. "That better be true, barbie," he whispered into my ears, causing a shiver down my spine. "Because I don't let go of things so easily," It's not like I even did anything. "Remember that."I saw him enter in and took a deep breath before walking in as well. "Maybe it was an "fine" idea." I told myself before making my decision. "I'll use Alexander as my escape plan."
