Valeria and Ergon were the only ones in the dining room. The moment Shiella left to check on Erica, Valeria took a seat opposite Ergon, she was ready to bombard him with questions. Valeria stared intensely at Ergon without saying a word and Ergon was beginning to feel uncomfortable, although he knew the reason why she was looking at him that way. "Just ask me, I know you've got questions for me. Stop glaring at me like that, please." Ergon sighed. "You know you're crazy, right?" "What!." "Yeah, you're fucking crazy. I'm sure you were having fun toying with me. How dare you lie to me you dumb head!," Valeria fumed. "Lie? What did I lie about?" Ergon asked, feigning ignorance. Valeria took the knife in front of her and held it tightly, and glaring dangerously at Ergon at the same time. Ergon immediately stood up from the chair he sat on. "W..what are you doing?." He stuttered, eyeing the knife in her hand suspiciously. Valeria smirked, seeing the fear on his face. Time to pay you back, pest! She uttered inwardly, with a wicked smile on her face. "What do you mean?" She asked as she stood up, and slowly approached Ergon. "Come on Valeria, I'm sure you ain't going to kill me. Could you please put down the knife. It's dangerous, you know," Ergon begged as he slowly moved away from Valeria. "Don't you dare run away, Ergon, I swear I'll kill you." "What did you say? You told a lie and the guards let you in? You'll find a way to leave without anyone seeing you just like that? Bet you were having fun while making a fool out of me." Valerie spat. "Alright, Valeria," Ergon sighed. He moved closer to her, then he slowly took the knife from her and kept it on the table, then he turned to face her. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to lie to you, it was silly and stupid of me to do that. Please forgive me." He apologized. Valeria scoffed. "Whatever, I'm sure it is not a sincere apology." She stated, turning her gaze away. Ergon smiled, seeing her reaction. "Damn! She looks so fucking cute when she's angry. Maybe he should always make her angry by seeing her cute face more often. He thought with a smile. "It's a sincere apology, please believe me," Ergon pleaded. "Fine then. So, you're ma'am Shiella's son?" She asked, and Ergon nodded speechlessly. "No wonder you bragged about being richer than Sheila's father." Valeria smirked. "Oh come on, but it's true anyway, we are richer than them, so—." "Not we." Valeria interrupted. "What?." "Not we." She repeated. "And what do you mean by that?" "You keep saying we are richer than them. Who are we?" She asked, folding her hands. "Are you trying to kid or something, our family, of course," Ergon replied. "You shouldn't use 'we,' it's your parents' money, stop making it sound like you're rich on your own." Valeria smirked. "Jeez, that hurts." "Whatever, I do have a question and I need you to answer me." "Sure, what's the question?" Ergon asked. Valeria stared around to make sure no one was coming before asking Ergon her question. "Who's Noah?." Ergon sighed softly and he said. "You don't need to know about him." She could tell he didn't want to tell her about Noah. "Pretty please, tell me." She pleaded, she wanted to know why Erica told her to be wary of Noah. "He's..." Ergon trailed off. "Come on, tell me, don't be reluctant." She encouraged him to go on. "He's my brother and..." Ergon was still speaking when Erica ran down the stairs in tears. "Erica! Erica! " Valeria called out to her Erica didn't respond but rather continued running to the maids' quarters. Ergon needed no soothsayer to tell him what had happened. He knew what Noah must have done to her. Suddenly, he heard footsteps marching downstairs, and he guessed that was Noah. Quickly, he held Valeria and he pulled her down with him, and they hid underneath the dining table. "What is it?" Valeria asked, confused. She noticed Ergon was hiding her from someone. "Shhhh." Ergon hushed to keep her quiet. Valeria tried taking a peek at the person, but she could only get a glimpse of his back, because he was heading to the door. Ergon placed his hand on her head and pulled her down. She sighed, but kept her head low. The door suddenly banged closed. Ergon knew then that Noah had left the house. He immediately went out of his hiding place with Valeria. "What was that all that about?" "It's nothing," Ergon replied. He didn't want Noah to see Valeria. He feared what Noah would do to her if he were to see her. He didn't want her to be used by his lusty brother, and deep down, he had vowed to protect Valeria from Noah. He would forever blame himself if he let Noah get close to her. "Hey." Valeria tapped him, snapping him out of his thoughts. "What?" Ergon asked. "What was that about? Who were you hiding me from?" Valeria questioned. "Look, Valeria, it's better you didn't know now. I'll tell you when the time is right." Ergon stated. Valeria frowned. "You've got to be—." "Please, Valeria, don't push it." Ergon uttered sternly. Valeria became angry at the thought that Ergon was keeping her in the dark. She felt like walking out on him, but she needed his help with something, so she managed to control her anger. "If he doesn't want to talk about it now, I might as well ask him later." She thought. "Fine then, have it your way, but I need your help with something." "What's that?." "I don't know Erica's room. I was wondering if you knew." Ergon sighed. He was contemplating if he should take her to see Erica or not. He knew Valeria would find out the truth if she went to see Erica. Don't be stupid, she's bound to find out the truth anyway, you're being over protective for nothing, Valeria is bound to find out the truth about Noah." His sub-conscious stated. "Say something." Valeria said, tapping him once more. "Huh?." "What's wrong with you? are you sick or something? You keep zoning out." Valeria asked, staring at him suspiciously. "It's nothing, come with me, I'll take you to Erica's room." Ergon finally agreed. He took the lead while Valeria trailed behind him. Valeria is bound to find out the truth, and he vows to protect her from Noah.
