Chapter 21 " Where are you ? Why aren't you home yet ? " Leo's voice pierced through the din of the bar , sharp and clear . Had he gotten home already ? This is the first time he'd ever gotten home before me . " I've been calling and messaging you . Where are you ? Why didn't you pick up ? " I glanced at my phone . He had called several times . " I'm with Emma . She got pretty drunk , so I'm taking her home . " " Where are you ? I'll come get you . " His voice carried a hint of urgency , something I hadn't heard from him in ages . ' I'm at The Whiskey Tavern on Riverside Drive . It's far , Leo . I'll just grab a cab and head home " I reflexively tried to decline . I didn't want to wait for him in the bar - it would take forever for him to get here . I'd rather just take a cab and get home faster . " I'll be there in twenty minutes .
