Chapter 1 Lena's POV Five New Years after sealing the mate bond with Blake, he suddenly vanished. I went to the Pack Enforcement Office to report it. The detective who greeted me read through my statement, then looked at me with a strange expression. "Ma'am, you said your mate is Blake Cramer, the Alpha of the bloodmoon pack? Then, what's your name?" "My name is Lena Woodward, Luna of the Bloodmoon Pack. Have you heard anything about my mate?" I asked, my blind eyes staring ahead as my fingers nervously twisted the hem of my shirt. The detective frowned, knocking heavily on the desk. "Ma'am, we need your cooperation. Please tell us your real name." I was stunned, my voice barely above a whisper. "I am Lena Woodward." Behind me, a captured rogue sneered, "Hey, blind girl, don't think just because you look like her, you can impersonate someone else." "Everyone in the werewolf realm knows that Alpha Blake gave his pregnant Luna, Lena, a yacht worth a hundred billion as a gift. Lena's social media was filled with posts bragging about it, and it spread through the entire werewolf realm for days." At the same time, the LED screen across from me was playing an interview with Blake at a pack gathering. "Yesterday was New Year's Eve, Alpha. What's the one thing you wish for this new year?" "Of course I just hope my beloved wife has a smooth delivery, and that everything goes safely and happily." "Thank you, honey." Kendra's familiar voice echoed. A cold wave washed over me, my scalp tingling, and my face drained of color, my heart racing in my chest. Five years ago, I lost my sight in a car accident, and Blake was devastated. Everyone in the werewolf realm said that Alpha Blake would never seal the mate bond with a blind she-wolf, making her his Luna. Some even brought in a she-wolf who looked nearly identical to me and secretly placed her in his bed. When Blake found out, he nearly strangled the she-wolf named Kendra. "Get out! My heart only belongs to Lena. Any woman who looks like her disgusts me!" That night, Blake drove to the pack hospital and held me tightly, his burning tears fell on my shoulder. "Babe, tomorrow we'll seal the mate bond, okay? I want you to be the true Luna of my pack." Everyone knew that Blake loved me deeply and hated Kendra with all his heart. But now, the woman standing proudly beside him was none other than Kendra, pretending to be "Lena." It felt as though my heart had been torn apart, and a coldness seeped into every crack. What was going on? I had to find Blake and get answers. I walked out of the Pack Enforcement Office in a daze, only to be knocked unconscious by a falling billboard. Before I lost consciousness, I thought I heard an anxious, frantic voice, "Babe! What happened to you?" When I opened my eyes again, the blinding white light made my eyes sting. In the next second, I widened my eyes in shock. In the blink of an eye, my sight had miraculously returned! What I thought was lost forever came back as if by a miracle. Before I could even take in the strange new world around me, I overheard Blake and his friend Ben talking outside the door, "Blake, how much longer are you going to let Kendra impersonate Lena? It's been five whole years!" Blake let out a deep sigh, speaking in a pained tone, "I don't know, okay? Back then, the pack elders refused to accept a blind she-wolf as the pack's Luna, but I loved Lena so much that I had to lie and say her sight had returned. Then I had Kendra pretend to be her." "But now, all those elders are dead! Why are you still..." "Kendra's pregnant!" Blake interrupted quickly, his voice tinged with frustration. "And I don't know why, but after all this time, it feels like I really can't live without her." Ben was stunned. "You've lost your mind! You actually developed feelings for Kendra? Don't you remember? The driver responsible for the accident that blinded Lena was Kendra's drunk brother." "If it weren't for him, Lena wouldn't have lost her sight. If Lena finds out about all this..." "Don't say it!" Blake frowned deeply. "Kendra is innocent. Her brother's crime has nothing to do with her. I've sent that drunkard to Pack Prison, and he'll never get out." "Since Lena became blind, she hasn't gone out much. There's no signal in the house, and she lives in this pack house I painstakingly built to resemble a castle. She'll never find out about any of this in her lifetime." Inside, I bit my lip hard, tears streaming down my face. Though the pack house was warm, I felt a bone-deep chill. I reached for a stack of beautifully framed drawings beside my bed, all drawn by Blake himself, capturing moments from our past. The first one was from when Blake and I met during a desert adventure. He broke his leg, and I took care of him for three days and nights. The third one was from when Blake climbed a 4,000-meter mountain to impress me, and he took a picture of the view from the top for me. The eighth one was of the time I mentioned liking ballet, and he spent billions of dollars to invite the top ballet masters from Scandinavia to celebrate my birthday. The fifteenth one was of the pack house Blake designed specifically for me, suitable for a blind person, luxurious and comfortable. He had knelt down on one knee, taking my hands in his, his gaze soft and full of love. "Babe, from now on, I'll be your eyes. You will be my one and only in my heart." The girl in the picture had a bright, gentle smile and was nestled in his arms. I let out a bitter laugh, my lips curling in pain. I burned each drawing, one by one. All of them were thrown on the bed, the flames licking away the memories. Blake, your love had become filthy. I no longer wanted it.
