Chapter 34 After I got back and talked with Maleena about what happened it was dinner time. Her first dinner with everybody. We get to the dining room and I see everybody there. My seat to the left of Alarick is open and Maleena sits next to Alena who is sitting next to Beta Markus. Gamma Garret is to my right and Amara is next to him. Throughout dinner it is relatively calm. Nobody has really said much, just the pleasantries. Alena and Maleena have been chatting throughout the whole dinner, nothing too detailed, but the get to know you questions. I think that those two will get along well. "So are you going to be going to school?" Alena asks Maleena. The servants come out and bring some chocolate dessert. "Yes. Actually LeeAca and I went and registered today." Maleena says excitedly. "Oh! I bet that they have you registered for the Luna schedule. You will be in the same classes as me!" Alena semi-squels. I wonder if she is still having problems finding friends. If she is, that may be why she is so excited. "Well they did, but we moved the schedule around so that I can take warrior classes too. I don't want to give up training." Maleena answers back, then takes a spoon full of chocolate tiramisu. Her eyes go wide, she hasn't had anything fancy like this other than at the royal ball. I chuckle at her reaction. I feel Alarick's mood has changed from pleasant to irritated. "What do you mean "moved the schedule around"?" Amara asks. "Oh well. They had me signed up for the Luna schedule and LeeAca and I didn't want that. I want to be a warrior, but since I am related to the soon to be queen they had me there. LeeAca looked at the warrior schedule and Luna schedule and substituted some classes for the other and now we have a combined schedule. I am taking some Luna classes, like etiquette and speech, but also some warrior classes." She says. I can see Alena's eyes scrunch together. I look around to see everybody else has stopped eating and is now looking up. "We can do that? I have wanted to do warrior training too, but no it was not possible." Alena pouts at Amara. Before Amara could answer Alarick barks. "No. We cannot do that. There is a reason the schedules are made the way they are." He says, looking at me. "What?" I ask him in confusion. "Undo it and choose a schedule that best fits her." He says to me. "This schedule does best fit her." I argue. "That is not how it works. You obviously knew this and broke the rules by changing the schedule." He says. "Well it will be how it works come next school year." I argue. I feel his irritation turn to anger. "What the hell are you talking about?" He says, his voice raising. "After explaining to the principle that everybody should partake in different classes he asked me to advocate the schedule change. Students will be able to have their main path to follow, but are allowed to request other classes. It will help create unity and a respect for different professions." I say, trying to prove my point, but his anger only skyrockets. "YOU HAVE NO AUTHORITY TO DO SUCH THING! YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR SISTER IN THE SCHEDULE THAT'S FINE, BUT YOU WILL NOT BE CHANGING THE WAY THINGS ARE DONE AROUND HERE!" He yells, everybody has put their heads down, trying to avoid being a target of his anger. Not me, I stare directly into his eyes, challenging him. I feel mine and Fen's anger rising. She is wrestling in my head yelling at me to be let out to show him who is boss. I get up, knowing that with Fen fighting me, our eyes will start changing colors. I take a deep breath and when I know my eyes are normal, I look down to him, "It has been over two months and I have never been told what is expected of me. Do NOT get mad at me for your own mistake." I spit down at him and start walking away. "YOU WILL NEVER HAVE ANY AUTHORITY TO CHANGE ANYTHING! "He yells back at me as I keep walking. I walk out of the front door and start picking up my pace. I hear footsteps running behind me and Maleena yelling at me to slow down. But she is yelling at the wrong person right now because Fen has taken over. Maleena finally catches up and grabs my arm to stop me. Fen tears our arm from her grasp and looks at her. "Fen." Maleena says looking at her eyes. Fen's eyes glow green like neon lights, with small black pupils. It is the only way people can tell we are the shadow. The monster that haunts their dreams. Glowing green eyes. Always wearing a hood that darkens the face. The only thing people remember are the eyes. "Fen. Please, just come back and we can calm down and talk about it." Maleena tries to persuade us, but our anger is too great. There is only one that can help us, hunting. We hear more footsteps running up to us and Amara yelling for me. Before she can get near us we start walking away. I can tell that Amara has stopped with Maleena and heard their conversation. "What is she doing? Is she okay?" Amara asks. "She just needs some time to cool down, so she is going for a walk." Maleena answers. "She should really have somebody to talk to." Amara says, taking a few steps in my direction. "I think she needs to be alone right now. But I did want to walk to you about the plans for the apartment." Maleena says, successfully grabbing Amara's attention. I tuned them out and continued to the forest. In Addicted to You movie, Audrey's biggest regret? A one-night stand with Floyd, her secret love for eight years.
