Chapter 18 "WHY DID YOU SKIP SCHOOL? YOU ARE A PRINCESS YOU SET THE EXAMPLE TO OTHER STUDENTS! IF I EVER HEAR OF YOU SKIPPING SCHOOL AGAIN YOU WILL BE PUT IN THE DUNGEONS!" I hear Alarick yelling. Amara races up to Alarick and slaps him. Alena is just standing there shaking. "WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU BROTHER? THE DUNGEONS FOR SKIPPING SCHOOL?" Amara yells at Alarick who has turned his rage on his sister. They start yelling and Alena walks to her room quietly. "BOTH OF YOU SHUT UP!" I yell with my aura slipping out. They both stop and stare at me in disbelief. "If you don't mind I am going to talk with Alena. You both are in no state of mind to do so and obviously do not know how to handle dealing with a teenager." I say as I walk up the stairs following Alena's scent. I hear sobbing and I knock on the door. "Alena? It's Leeaca. Can I come in?" I ask. I can feel the sadness in waves from the door. She doesn't say anything just continues to sob. I open the door and walk in. "I didn't say you could come in." She says through tears. "I know but I did anyway. It seems like you need somebody to talk to." "I don't need anybody." "Then I will just sit here and wait till you do." I say as I sit at the edge of her bed. She looks over at me and sits up, drying her tears and sniffling. I reach out and touch her arm, sending some calm emotions. "What happened?" I ask. "I have no friends." She says, staring at the floor. I don't say anything and wait for her to explain further. "All of the people at school only wish to be my friend because I am a princess. They are all fake. Yesterday during my free period I caught them making fun of me. Saying that I am the ugliest princess that they have ever seen and that I didn't deserve to be living in the castle. I should be living in the pig pen... or not at all. We don't even have a pig pen." She says while trying to hold back tears. "Alena. They are only saying that because you hold a power that nobody else does. They are jealous of you. You are beautiful and have a beautiful life. You need to own that. I am guessing that you try way too hard to please others and care way too much about what they think." She just nods her head. "Listen, you need to stop caring so much and try to find the people who best suit your personality." "How do I do that when everybody is scared of me or trying to please me?" She asks. Still with tears in her eyes. "Not everybody is like that. You need to find out who the true people are. Not the fake ones." "How do I do that? It is impossible to figure out who the not b*tches are." "I am assuming your school has empaths." She nodded her head. "Look to see who they hang around with. They can only tolerate people who are true to their emotions. The worst thing they hate is when people are lying and trying to deceive others." "After you see who they tolerate, see if you think you can be friends with them. You can come to me if you need to talk." Her face lifts and she puts a slight smile on her face. "Thank you." She says as she hugs me. "You're welcome. Just don't let me catch you skipping school again or I will put you in the dungeons." I say in a deeper tone mocking her brother. She lets go and we both start laughing. "I wont, I promise." I walk out to see Amara and Alarick standing at the door. "Problem is solved. She is fine and will not be skipping school from now on." They both look at me then at the door to Alena bedroom and back. "Why did she skip school in the first place?" Alarick asked in an aggravated tone. "That is for her to tell you, not me. It is not my business to share hers with you." I say. "I am her guardian." He argues. "AND if it was life threatening I would tell you, but it is not. If she wishes for you to know then she will tell you." I say and head to my bedroom. I can feel his aggravation from here. In Addicted to You movie, Audrey's biggest regret? A one-night stand with Floyd, her secret love for eight years. Despite his arranged marriage and his family's troubles, he kept rescuing her. She tho...
