There was nothing but silence between us. I was facing his left side, my arm stretched out with the phone in my hand. "I want to talk to you," he said but I ignored him. Placing the mobile on the bed, I turned to go to the dressing room to pack my bag. "Rabiya, listen," This was the first time in these 10 days that he had pronounced my name. Yet I didn't want to listen to anything. I felt hurt and broken. "Rabiya~" He cooed and grabbed my wrist. I turned to him and squirmed out of his grip, but my lean body didn't have enough power to protest against his muscular one. "Rabiya, sit." He pulled me towards him and I unwillingly sat beside him. My eyes were unable to look uo at him, but I felt his gaze on me. "I apologize for last night, I'm very sorry for what I did," his voice seemed soft, but I didn't dare look up at him. "Rabiya, say something, argue with me!" My heart was crying in pain, but I was completely silent outside. "Rabiya~" Pronouncing my name, he held my chin and lifted it a little. My eyes met with his, and I felt my heart clenching with pain. I wanted to cry my heart out. Are they the same eyes which were glaring me last night? This time, I saw care evident in them. "Sorry for what I did yesterday," He said, and I couldn't hold my tears anymore. Soon, I was sobbing with hiccups. I felt weak in front of him. "Rabiya, I-I was in a rage, I'm- I'm sorry," He stammered. I don't want to talk to you, I thought. "Yo-you are-are getti-ng late for...office," I stopped crying and replied in hiccups. "Rabiya, sit, I want to talk to you," He said with determination and pulled me again. This time, I almost lost my balance but he held me and made me sit beside him. "Stop crying, I promise I'll never do it again." He held me by the shoulder and he pulled me to him. My head landed on his shoulder, and I began crying loudly like a child. I didn't even realize when my arms wrapped around his chest and I hid my face in there. He caressed my head, and I felt relieved in his embrace. It felt as though I had forgotten all that had happened last night. "W-why you did that? I was simply asking you, if you had your dinner or not?" I asked him still hiding my face in his chest. "I'm sorry. Please forgive me for that?" He whispered near my hair, making me realize about our closeness. I immediately pulled myself away from him. I felt embarrassed and shy. He didnt look at me, and I didnt dare look at him too, but he still held my hand. "You are my-" He suddenly stopped, and I looked up at him. Please complete it, my heart pleaded. "You are my wife, my responsibility. I'll never give you any problem in your life, I promise. You are free to do anything. Do a lot of shopping, go where you want to go, live life according to your way. Do my work if you like it, but don't do it if you feel tired. You'll get every right on me as my wife-" Tears continuously flowed down my eyes, but his words were cut off in the middle when we both heard footsteps. The door of the room was already open. Maaz quickly wiped my tears and cupped my cheeks. "Now stop crying," He ordered, and I nodded with a smile. Meanwhile, Ammi knocked on the door. Maaz was in the same position when she saw us, but turned away. He passed me the juice which I had brought in for him. "Drink it, have breakfast, and take rest. No need to do any work," He said after caressing my cheek. Ammi was still standing by the door. I felt embarrassed and shy in front of her but happiness was the most prominent emotion. "Your breakfast?!" I said to him when he moved towards the door. "I'll talk to you at night, and don't worry about my breakfast" saying that he left the room, and my heart forget it's every pain. I was feeling on the ninth cloud. His words were echoing in my ears. You are my wife, my responsibility, I'll never give you any problem in your life. You'll get every right on me as my wife I was imagining my future with him- my husband. My Mr. Khadoos. But I came out of my daydream when Ammi called out for me. "Rabiya, are you alright?" she asked and caressed my head I just nodded. The smile wasn't leaving my lips. She kissed my forehead, and I noticed also smiling after witnessing him with me. "Why were you crying? your eyes are looking puffy," Ammi asked me. "Nothing. Everything is fine now," I said slowly and she nodded. "Are you happy with my Maaz?" she asked and nodded happily. She hugged me out of happiness. "Come for breakfast, then take rest," Ammi said and I nodded. After breakfast, Ammi and I were alone in the big house- Baba and Maaz were in their offices, and Raahim bhai was in university. I ordered the maid to clean my room and went to Ammi's room, since I was missing my own mother. "Come beta, sit," Ammi said and I sat beside her on the bed "Ammi, Maaz has changed. He said I'm his wife and responsibility, he will never let me face any problem in my life," I informed her happily. She smiled as well. For the first time in my life, I was happy, yet I was not jumping like a kid. My heart was feeling peaceful with his words. He is my husband, my Maaz. "I'm happy because you both are happy," Ammi said to me. "Ma'am, your mobile was ringing," A maid came to me and handed me my mobile. After talking to Iqra, I disconnected the call. "Whose call was it?" Ammi asked. "My best friend, Iqra. She is going shopping with our other friends, and she wanted me to come as well, but I refused," I informed ammi. It was the first time when I refused to go shopping, just because I just wanted to feel the peace that ran in my frame at his words and touch. "But why you are not going?? GGo,, shop for yourself, as well as for Maaz," Ammi said. Shopping For Maaz? Why I didn't think about it? My lips curved up in a shy smile. "Okay," I said to Ammi and scooted towards my room. "Hello Iqqu, I'm also coming!" I informed her on the call. *** I walked out of the car to the front of the mall, where Leena, Saba, Iqra, Hiba, Simran, Neha, and Zenab stood waiting for me. "You are late," Iqra said, glaring at me. "But we forgive you, as you are a newlywed," Neha teased. "You didn't even invite us to your reception! We didn't know about your marriage, but at least you could invite us to the reception!" Simran scolded. "I lost my mobile phone at the wedding, and I didn't have anybody's contact number. Yesterday Maaz gifted me this," I showed my mobile phone, earning a hundred exclaimations from all of them. "Ohhhooo!" "Wooo!" "Hayyy!" "Aaawww!" "O. M. G.!" I giggled. "I think we are here for shopping, and not for chatting," I said joyfully and everyone nodded. All my friends were busy shopping, but I was thinking about my Maaz. What should I buy for him? I went to another shop and bought a nice wallet and sunglasses for my Mr. handsome Khadoos. I then returned to the shop where all my friends were busy shopping. "Where were you?" Leena asked, and shook my head with a smile. "Busy in shopping for her husband!" Zenab pointd at my shopping bags after fake-clearing her throat. "Is he romantic?" Hiba asked in a whisper. "Shut up!" I scolded. I didn't know anything about his romantic nature. I hugged him on the tenth day of our marriage, that too unintentionally. Yet, I was happy. "I'm hungry!" Simran, the chubby girl of our gang whined. "What's new in this?" Iqra and I said in unison, and everyone burst into laughter. Simran pouted. "Let's go for lunch, we'll continue our shopping afterwards!" Simran said, and everyone agreed with her. We entered the food court, but it was full. "Look there!" Hiba said while pointing towards the only empty table. All of us walked there, and then realised that it had only seven chairs- we were eight. "Hey, look there! There are only two people on that table! Can we take a chair from there?" Neha suggested. Saba and I walked towards that table to ask. "They are looking like a newly wedded couple," Saba whispered at me. "How you know?" "Idiot, look at the girl! She has mehndi designs on her entire arms, just like you!" She said, and I smiled looking at my own arms. "Excuse me! If you don't mind, can we take a chair from here?" Saba asked, and the girl nodded. "Rabiya let's go," Saba told me, but my attention was fixed on the couple. They sat holding each other's hands, their fingers intertwined. It looked beautiful.
