*Third person’s point of view* "M-a-az!" Rabiya stammered hesitantly. "Maaz, wake up, otherwise you will be late for office!" She politely called out, but he was sleeping like a log. "How much will this man sleep?'' Rabiya mumbled with irritation while smacking her forehead "Maaz!" Rabiya said a little louder, and this time, he opened his eyes. He grimaced when he saw Rabiya standing in front of him. "Wake up! You are getting late!" Rabiya exclaimed. "You don't have to worry about me. Mind your own business." Rabiya punched him in her imagination. Mr. Khadoos, I want to punch you in reality, I just wish I could do so. "Go to hell," Rabiya mumbled as she turned to the dressing room. "You go to hell!" Maaz replied angrily. Rabiya turned to him, and placed her hands on her waist confidently. "For your kind information, Mr. Maaz Waqaar, I'm already in hell with a brainless devil!" She said loudly and angrily in a single breath. "How dare you call me a brainless devil? What are you then?" Maaz sat up in the bed and asked. "I haven't called you a brainless devil, but you interpreted it yourself. Maybe you do know who you are, so don't blame me!" Rabiya smartly answered while she shrugged her shoulders and rolled her eyes. For a moment Maaz's mouth remained open seeing her quick-wit, but then he too came forward. "And you are silly and senseless woman," Maaz taunted in reply. "Haww! How dare you to call me a woman? I'm a girl- only 22!" Rabiya exclaimed with her eyes wide, as if Maaz had something undigestable and unbelievable. "It means you only have a problem with me calling you a woman, you do agree that you are silly and senseless. That's good!" Maaz smartly replied with a taunting smirk on his face. "Do not stress your little brain too much, it would be dangerous-" Rabiya smacked an answer right on his face, but Maaz’s gaze went to the clock, and he yelled. “Oh my god! I'm late!" He immediately ran out of bed to the dressing room to take out his clothes. "I was telling the same thing," Rabiya cheerfully said. Maaz simply glared at her. "I'm late because of you and your silly arguments," Maaz said and continued walking to the dressing room, but Rabiya's voice stopped him. "I'll like to continue this argument but for now, I have already kept your clothes in the bathroom," Rabiya instructed. He swiftly walked to the bathroom without turning back. On the other hand, Rabiya went to the dining room, her cheeks red in embarrassment. She was afraid of everyone's reaction to what she said last night about Maaz. "Rabiya come to have breakfast, where is Maaz?" Asma called out in her loving tone. "Ammi, baba I'm sorry for…" She said nervously without looking at anyone, but she didn't get any reply. Very good my dear tongue, you’ve put me in a great deal of trouble, Rabiya scolded herself. "Rabiya, we all agreed with what you said yesterday," Raahim said playfully and everyone glared at him again. ''I'm sorry, not Rabiya! Bhabi, bhabi! Is it fine?"Raahim squeaked in defence, and everyone nodded after a smile. "Where is he?" Waqaar asked in his deep, manly voice. "Baba, he is getting ready, he is late for office," Rabiya informed and took her seat. "Late again! He will leave the house without having breakfast!" Asma said, smacking her forehead. "Really?" Rabiya asked, and Asma nodded. She got up from the chair, filled a glass with juice, and placing that in a plate with some apple slices and orange segments, she marched out of the dining room. "Where are you going, Rabiya?" Waqaar and Asma asked in unison. "I’ll be back in 5 minutes!" Without giving a glance behind to the confused household, she rushed to her bedroom. "Ammi, I think she understood what we told her yesterday," Umema said with a smile, and Asma nodded lightheartedly. "Last night they both had had their dinner together in the kitchen," Asma told Umema. "Really?" Everyone was amazed. *Maaz’s point of view* She already hung my clothes here! Who tells her to do my work? She is practically going behind me like a tail. I was angry, but all my concentration was on reaching office on time. Since I didn’t have time for taking out another pair of clothes, I wore the set that Rabiya had kept for me. This girl is indeed something extraordinary, she dares to call me a brainless devil! It's enough now! Rabiya, I break the promise I made to myself. Now, I will challenge you on every step. I went out of the bathroom, and sitting on the bed I began wearing my shoes when she entered the room with a plate. “Maaz, juice!” She passed me the glass. I didn’t bother to give her any answer and tied my shoelaces. Stubborn enough, she passed the glass again. "What's wrong with you? I am getting late!" I shout out, and for a moment, I thought I’d get a slap from her, considering her red angry face. When I didn’t feel any hands around me, I bowed down again to tie the other shoelace. "Maaz!" I looked up at her to say get out, but before I could say anything, she popped a piece of apple in my mouth, practically freezing me for a second. What is this? Why does she do this? Is she okay? Has she lost her mental balance? I was answerless, but she was smiling beautifully. But-but-b-but I’m not interested in her smile. "What’s this?" I exclaimed in anger to frighten her, but instead, "Oh. My. God. Doesn’t Mr. Engineer know the simplest thing? A for Apple!" She replied funnily. All my anger, all my screams were simply wasted. She made fun of me, again. Rabiya, why are you not scared of me, and my anger? Confused, I thought. "Chew it!" She said, glaring at me. I glared back at her, but she sweetly smiled, completely unafraid of me. Once I swallowed the piece, she passed me the glass of juice again. "Gulp it down quickly, it won’t take much time!" She ordered. When I didn’t hold the glass, she slammed it on the side table and walked towards the dressing table. What’s the problem with her? I have to go and get my wallet, but she- I wanted to hit my head on the wall. This girl is frustrating me! She came out of the dressing room holding my handkerchief and wallet, and passed it to me, but I ignored her. "Maaz, you are getting late, take it!" I felt like a kid myself, while Zunni is making a demand in front of me. I'm pretty sure she has a mental issue. A minute back she was laughing like crazy, and now she is behaving like a child. My face was still red in anger. "Maaz, it won’t take time, just take it!" She insisted. I snatched my wallet from her hand and went towards the door and kept calling me. I decided not to pay attention and kept walking to the car. What’s wrong with her? Why is she following me, now? I slip my hand in my pocket to take the car keys. Shoot. I forgot them in the room! "Chhote, bring my car keys from my room!" I ordered the servant who was busy cleaning Raahim's car. "No need to bring the keys!" Rabiya's voice rang in my ears and I kicked the car's wheel harder with frustration. Aaaaaaayyyyy! I internally yelled in pain, but I masked it in front of Rabiya, so that she doesn’t get another chance to make fun of me. "Maaz your laptop and car keys, you forgot them!" She stood right behind me, with the same juice glass in one hand, and my laptop and car keys in another. She smiled, and passed them to me. Glaring at her, held them and opened my car. I really felt thirsty after all those arguments. "Pleeease?" She said with a cute face. I grabbed the glass and gulped it down without wasting a second. I had taken that juice because I was thirsty, not because of her pleadings. "Allah hafiz, drive safely!" I heard her when I steered out of the main gate. Why she is behaving like a wife? She should understand that she is my wife on papers, not in reality. I just wanted to reverse the time, so that I could do something. Should I call her? I unlocked my mobile, but then I felt my brain saying, Maaz, she not yours! I put my mobile back. My vision was blurred with tears, and so was my future. *Third person’s point of view* It was 5:35 p. m., and Rabiya was waiting for Mr. Khadoos. She ran to the ktchen as soon as she heard the car’s horn. "Bano~, water!" He yelled and Rabiya handed a glass to him. "Why are you doing all these things?" He asked Rabiya with furrowed brows and picked the glass. "Because I'm your wife!" she said in all seriousness, and the water choked his throat. He started coughing, his eyes turned bloodshot red, and his condition made her heart flutter. She took the glass from his hand, and placing that on the table, she was just about t pat his back, when she lost her courage. "Maaz, are you okay?" she asked when he seemed better. He walked towards the bedroom without paying attention to her. Maaz, she is right. She is your wife, you can't ignore this reality. She is my wife, just in paperwork. I don't have any space for her in my life or heart. "Bhai, bhabi, are you’ll going? Let me drop you to the airport," Maaz said to Abdullah and Umema when he saw them coming out with their luggage. "No need to drop us, we are going with the driver," Abdullah replied and Maaz nodded. "I'll miss you!" Maaz hugged his big brother. "Maaz, I want to talk to you," Abdullah said. "Yeah, bhai?" "Umema, go and check the girls if they are ready or not, I'm coming," Umema returned to the bedroom after giving a nod. "Maaz, Rabiya is your wife, admit it," Abdullah tried to convince him. "Bhai! Why is this topic is not leaving me?" Maaz said in rage and frustration. "You know what? A wife always envisions and awaits for many things from her husband. I know Rabiya and your situation is quite different, but still, she must have some desires-" Maaz cut him off. "Why are you all thinking about her? Why is none of you thinking about me?" Maaz said, disappointed. "Fine! Don't take stress, just try to forget your pas-" Maaz again interrupted. "Okay bhai, Allah Hafiz! Have a great journey!" Maaz gave a quick hug to Abdullah and ran towards his room.
