William climbs down the staircase to the foyer while his guards run to him. "Do not forget what I told you to do, Kenny." He says to one of his guard. Kenny bows, "Yes, consigliere." William nods and the guards escort him outside to the garage before one of them starts the car heading for Lexis' mansion. Soon, they arrive there and William steps out of the car making his way to the entrance of the mansion but two guards at the entrance stops him. They bow before him as they greet him. One of the guards place his hand on the communication device on his ear before speaking. "Captain, the consigliere is here."He pauses for some minutes before turning to the consigliere. "You may go in consigliere." William sighs and shake his head. "Oh, just wow" He claps his hands together while the guards opens the door for him to go in. He walks in majestically into the foyer with his guards and then Lexis climbs down the stairs wearing a red suit with Ron by his side. "To what do I owe this visit, brother?" Lexis asks with sarcasm as he climbs down the stairs. William grins watching him come down. "I felt the need to see how my younger brother is doing." Lexis scoffs, "You don't expect meto believe that, do you?" William shrugs, "Your choice to believe or not, I do care about you." He says clearly with sarcasm. Lexis sighs and shakes his head before approaching him. He turns serious, "Whatever the reason for your visit, make it snappy. I have to get to work." William places his hand on his chest feigning being hurt, "You make it sound like I'm the one that doesn't work. That's so unfair." Lexis doesn't say anything but simply stare at him. William sighs and place his hands on his waist. "You won't even offer me a seat? Oh come on." Lexis sighs and rolls his eyes. "Fine then." He starts walking away and William follows him from behind. Lexis leads him to the sitting room and they both take their seats. One of Williams bodyguard stand beside him while the other, Kenny, is outside the sitting room. Kenny stands outside looking around as if searching for someone and when he doesn't seem to find who he's searching for, he starts walking away from the entrance of the sitting room. Just as he moves away from the entrance a little, he sees Kemi walking towards the sitting room with hand brush anda small bucket, so he stops moving. Lexis's guard, Robert, is also standing at the entrance of the sitting room and he's keeping a good eye on him watching his every movement. Just as Kemi gets close to where he is, Kenny feigns a coughing sound to grab her attention and luckily it works as she turns to him. Kemi quickly recognizes him as one of the consigliere's men since she has seen him with the consigliere before so she watches his every movement because she suspects he has something for her. Kenny smartly bends down pretending to lace his shoes, he placee a brown envelope under his shoes in the process. Kemi keeps moving around slowly pretending to clean handrail of the staircase beside her knowing very well that Kenny has place something under his shoes. Kenny rubs his hands on his neck and as he slowly moves his leg away from the envelope, Kemi walks over to where he is and pretends to step on his foot. "Ouch." Kenny feigns yelling in pain. Kemi gasps pretending to be shocked, "Oh my God! I'm so sorry sir. I'm so sorry I didn't see you" She quickly bends down pretending to help him clean his shoe taking the envelope and folding it in her hands. "Watch where you're going" Kenny plays along. Kemi stands up, "l'm really sorry. I'm really sorry." She quickly walks away looking down. Robert just watches the both of them without saying a word sensing something but just couldn't put a finger to what it is. He keeps looking at Kenny who is now standing frowning hard as if still angry that Kemi had stepped on him. Kemi on the other hand quickly hides in a coner and takes out the envelope with her hands trembling like she just murdered someone for the first time. Opening the envelope, she takes out the piece of paper from inside and opens it to read it. COME OUT OF THE MANSION BY 3PM. MEET ME AT MY MANSION. FOLLOW FOLA OSIBO STREET, IT'S THE ONLY WHITE MANSION IN THE STREET SO WALK YOUR ASS OFF OVER THERE. Her eyes widen as she reads what's on the paper. He wants her come out of the mansion? And how is she supposed to do that? Where would she even know fola osibo street? Look at how rude he still sounds even in writing. "What are you doing?" Madam Teju's voice startles her and she turns around to see her standing in front of her. This woman is sure bent on making sure she doesn't take a break. She quickly hides the paper, "No.. Nothing. I mean... cleaning, I'm cleaning." She quickly walks away from her while Madam Teju watch her leave. ******** AT WILLIAM'S MANSION. After seeing his brother, he returns to his house and goes straight to the spa built attached to his house. He lies on the spa lounger with a towel covering his body which stops a little above his waist while the esthetician massages his shoulders. Just then, Ella walks inside and the esthetician bows in sight of her before continuing her job. "Um...Will you be free later babe?" Ella asks William as she walks closer to where he lies. William sighs, "Why? ls there something you need?" Ella bit her bottom lip, "Would you?" "I'm a busy person Ella, you know that. So unless it'sbimportant, I don't have time." William says as the esthetician continues massaging his back. "It...is... Important." Ella says emphatically. William raises his right hand up signalling for the esthetician to stop. She stops immediately and walks out. He sits up and turns to face Ella. "So what is it?" He asks She smiles, "I want us to go out on a date. I want to spend time with you." William scratches below his brows with his finger, "A date? Oh come on Ella, that's childish." "There's nothing childish in wanting to spend time with my husband, William." William sighs crossing his arms on his bare chest. "I won't be free, I have something important to take care of." A big frown appears on her face, "That's not fair William." "Look Ella, we can just..." She cuts in, "We can just spend time with each other at home then. We don't need to go a restaurant or any other places to spend time together." She moves close to him and takes his hand in her own. "I just want to spend time with you, hmm?" She presses on. William withdraws his hand from hers and stands up from the spa lounger. "Some other time Ella, I'm really busy." He starts walking away. "Do you always have to be like this? When will you ever look at me?" Ella screams out in frustration. William pauses in his track and turns to her. "I'm not in the mood for this Gabriella." He calls her by her full name in a serious tone. Ella walks closer to him, "You're not in the mood for this? When will you be in the mood for it then? Two years later, three, Or is it four? Tell me, William!" She yells at him. He runs his hands through his hair before placing them on his waist. "What do you want then? Huh? I said some other time, do l have to act as those sweet lovers in a drama series, hmm?" He looks directly into her eyes. "It's enough that we're married, Ella. Don't push me." He turns around to walk away but Ella hugs him from behind preventing him from taking any further step. "Don't walk away, please. You've been doing that a lot and it really hurts." Tears flows down her cheeks as she says that holding him from behind. William shut his eyes taking a deep breath before opening his eyes again. He reaches for her hands around him and tries to pull her away. "Stop acting like this Ella, it's not a lovely sight." She still doesn't let go and continues to hold on to him tight as she cries. "I won't let go until you listen to me." William sighs and runs his hands on his face in frustration. "What do you want from me Ella? Is having me as your husband not enough? What else do you want?" "I want you to look at me William. I need you to love me." She hugs him tighter. "I really love you a lot." William forcefully removes her hands from his waist as he couldn't take it any longer. He turns around and leans close to her ear. "Dont get too greedy, that will never happen. That word love, doesn't exist in my dictionary." He moves away from her and grins. "You're a pretty girl and of course you're attractive, but.." He emphasizes the last word before adding on. "I don't love you, you're solely meant for business." He turns around and starts walking away. Ella clenches her fist in anger, "You don't even feel any shame that you have to marry me to get a strong business alliance?" William pauses in his tracks as he hears her say that. He turns around to face her and narrows his eyebrows as his face becomes contorts with rage. His jaw clenches as he gives her a hostile glare. "What the f**k you just said?" She crosses her hands on her chest, "In other to beat your brother, you maried me to join hands with my father but you know what?" She moves closer to him. "You will never be able to beat him because..He is not pathetic like you." William grabs her by the arm, "Did...You...Just...Call...me...pathetic?" He asks empathetically glaring at her. She didn't say anything but only tries to drag her arm away from his but he suddenly drags her over to the wall and pushes her against it. She wince from the hard impact and her eyes widen when William raises his hand about to hit her. She shut her eyes dreading the impact but it didn't come. William pauses his trembling hand in the air as he glares at her. With everything in him, he manages to stop himself from her and instead, he punches the wall in anger hurting his knuckles in the process as blood starts flowing down his arms. "Count yourself lucky, that I still need your father's partnership, or else..." He hits his fist on the wall again making Ella flinch. "I would have disfigured that mouth of yours." He lets go of her and and walks away in rage. Ella breathes hard as she slumps on the ground with tears streaming down her cheeks. She curls herself up and buries her head between her legs as she sobs deeply. ******* It's almost 3pm and Kemi still does not know how she's going to leave the mansion without anyone noticing. And when she climbs downstairs to go to clean the media room, despite the fact that it's rarely used, she sees the underboss leaving the mansion along with his personal guards. That's much better and now she just has to think of a way to leave the house. There are no much guards in the house as the underboss has left with his two personal guards. She has to look for a way to leave this mansion and smartly. Then, she recalls that Ron had told her about the back door of the mansion. She enters the kitchen and moves the lighter close to the fire sprinkler and water starts sprinkling out from it. Ron had shown her how to do that just in case there's a fire. When she hears the the guards' voices and footsteps, she knows they are approaching to see what the problem is. She quickly leaves the kitchen and goes downstairs. The guards downstairs are all running around wondering where the fire is coming from. Seeing how distracted they are, she quickly runs out through the back door and turns around to the front. The guards guarding the front are still there though but they're all distracted trying to also know what's going on. She uses this opportunity and comes out of the gate. As soon as she is out of the gate, she stare outside in confusion. Where would she go from here? She decided to walk along the street, definitely she might see someone to ask where the street is. After walking for a while, she sees a mature lady standing at the side of the road and she walks closer to her. "Hello, please excuse me." She says. The lady turns to her, "Yes?" "Please, where is fola osibo street?" The woman points forward to a lane by the left. "That's the lane, it would lead you to the street." She says to Kemi. Kemi smiles, "Thank you very much." She starts walking away and follow the lane. After going for a while, she sees the streets signboard and she follows it making sure to ask people if she's in the right street though. Why would they build their mansions so close to one another? Do they all have to be in same area? After walking through the street from a while, she starts seeing other big mansions and it's now confusing on which one is the consigliere's. Why couldn't he just specify in the paper? After passing the first mansion, she still keeps walking. She keep seeing huge mansions but most of them aren't painted white so she keeps walking through the street on a corner to avoid getting brushed by cars. Just as she pauses feeling exhausted, she sees a huge mansion in front of her and it's definitely the way he had described it. She gets to the gate and knocks on the door. After a moment, the gate slides open revealing a guy in black suit looking at her. "You shouldn't knock the gate, you could have simply rang the bell. And for the notice, I've already known that it's you." He turns around. "Now follow me." Kemi nods without saying anything and starts walking behind the guy. He's sounding like she knows all of these stuffs. The consigliere suddenly told her out of the blue to see him at his mansion where she has never been before, so it's not her fault if knocks or does stupid things. She silently follows the guy into the mansion and he leads her pass the foyer upstairs before standing entering inside. He comes out after a short moment and turns to her. "You may go inside." He says to Kemi and she nods before entering inside the room. She meets the consigliere standing close to the window with a cigarette in his hands and smoke peming out of his mouth. "You sent for me." Kemi says still glued close to the door. William turns around to her, "Yes." He answers curtly as he approaches her slowly placing the cigarette back into his mouth. "So, what have you been doing at the underboss' house?" Kemi looks to the ground, "Em.. Cleaning most of the times." William rolls his eyes, "I'm not talking about that darling, I mean, the assignment I gave you?" Kemi twitch her lips to the side. She could'nt recall if she has any important information. She didn't even have time most times to peep around because of the work pressed on her shoulders. "Things have been going normally." She answers. William facial changes into a deep frown and he forcefully lifts her chin to meet his eyes. "You have been there for days Kemi, you definitely have something, right?" He glares at her daring her to say no. Kemi blinks fidgeting with her fingers. Should she tell him about the part where the underboss killed someone? Is that it? William bit his lips in anger and he grips her arm tightly. She wince in pain as she struggles to remove his hand but he only tightens his hand around her arm. "Ple...Please that hurts." He leans forward to her, "You don't have anything important to tell me? Then I don't think you're useful." Kemi's eyes widen in shock and she opens her mouth to start talking. "Well...Well I saw him killed a man, I...I don't know if the man is important to you?" She says hoping she has said something useful. William clenches his fist in anger as he pulls her closer to himself moving his hands to her waist and gripping her tightly. "What's my business with whom Lexis kills? Huh?" He squeezes her tightly making her wince in pain. "But...But that's all." "Oh really? Great then. It seems you have forgotten what I can do to your family." He threatens her. Kemi's eyes widen as she hears him say that. No, no not her family. He can't hurt her family, what would she do now? William lets go of her and takes up his phone from the bed while Kemi trembles fearing he's about to send an order. She moves to him and grips his wrist tightly staring into his eyes. "Please... Please don't hurt them, I beg of you." She pleads desperately. William stares at her as tears stream down her cheeks. His eyes roll down to look at her grip on his wrist. "Then do you have anything for me?" He asks taking the phone away from his ear. Kemi bit her lips trying hard to recall if she has seen or heard anything important and just when William places the phone back on his ear, she recalls what she overheard from days ago. "He...The underboss... I overheard them talking about some supplies." William looks at her and at the mention of supplies, he drops the phone on the bed and crosses his arms on his. chest. "Go on" He urges her. "They were saying something about some supplies and they said they know you have messed with it." William raises his eyebrows in surprise. He suspected the people spying on his men were Lexis's men but he was never sure. Lexis has not said anything since and that could only mean he's waiting to use it against him. If he proceeds with framing him for mishandling the supplies, Lexis would t come up with a proof against him. Why didn't he think of this, earlier? Now that he knows Lexis knows about it, he would use it against him instead. He would pretend like he doesn't know that he knows and proceed with the supplies but instead of messing with it, he would pretend to use to assist Lexis instead, so it would look like Lexis is laying a wrong claim against him out of hatred. He turns to Kemi whose hands are trembling as she still holds his wrist and he smiles, "Why didn't you say this earlier Kemi?" She raises her head up to look at him in surprise. "It's... It's a useful information?" William smiles and reaches for her face. He brushes her hair away from her face to the back of her ear. "Yes it is." Kemi heaves a sigh of relief and lets go of his wrist. He places his hand on her neck and smiles at her. "You did a good job darling." And then he leans close to her face and kisses her on the cheek. Kemi looks at him surprised at the sudden gentle kiss. "I can't always send my men to inform you so I have something for you." He moves away from her to the table and pulls out a drawer. He brings out a brand new Samsung phone and stretches it out to her. She stares at the phone in his hand. "It's... It's mine?" She asks in disbelief. William nods, "Yes. The number we will both communicate through is already stored in the contacts." Kemi slowly collects the phone from him and keeps staring at it. "I'm the only one you can communicate with so don't even think of putting other numbers there. I will know if you call other people, understood?" She nods, "Okay." William pauses for a while as he stares at her as she's looking at the phone like she has never seen a phone in her life before. He shakes his head at her. She looks up at him, "Will...will you one day allow me communicate with my family?" William sighs and dips his hands into his pocket. "That depends on how you behave." He shrugs. A slight smile finds it's way to her lips, "Okay." William nods, "Okay then, you may go. I hope nobody saw you coming?" She shakes her head, "No but I don't think I can use the same method to come out again though." "I don't wanna ask how you came out this time but I guess it's a sloppy method." He says mockery evident in his voice. "Of course not, it was a very clever method." Kemi says feeling proud of her plan to escape the house. William shrugs with a smile, "If you say so..darling." XOXO
