~Third Person POV~ Lexis walks into the hall escorted by his guard and Erica. There are already a few guests present at the party and he goes over to a chair at the VIP suite and sits down. Erica sits beside him while Robert stands beside them. There are two guards at the entrance. Just then, the girls start coming in alongside Kemi who walks into the hall feeling very nervous. She was busy staring at the strange guy that she has almost forgotten why she is here. Some of the girls start dancing while others have already started serving drinks to the men but she stands there like a pillar not knowing what to do. As she looks around, a hand rests on her shoulder and she turns around to look at the person. "It's me Anna." Anna says smiling at her. "Oh." Kemi sighs in relief. "Why are you just standing there Kemi? Do your job already." Anna urges her. "Em...Anna...Can you show me where the underboss is? I don't know him." "Wait, you don't know him?" Anna asks in surprise. Kemi rolls her eyes inwardly. Why would she want to even know the underboss if not for the consigliere? "No, I don't Anna." "Since the boss is not here, he's the one in charge, which means he should be at a private place. But relax, he might come out sooner or later." She tilts her head. "Why are you looking for the underboss Kemi?" Kemi rubs her neck, "Em.. Nothing really. I am just asking." Anna stares at her for a while, "I will be over there; you should serve the guests." She nods, "Okay." Anna walks away and Kemi sees her talking to some men in suits. She heaves a sigh and starts looking around and she sees two guests entering the VIP suite. Anna said the underboss should be in the VIP suite, so definitely, he should be in there but she can't just go inside like that. She bet those men in suits guarding the entrance will not even allow her inside. Just then she sees George sitting by the bar side. Maybe he can get her through? She walks over to the bar side and touch George slightly on the shoulder to get his attention. He turns to her and stares at her with a strange look. It is as if he has never seen her before. She clears her throat and speaks anyway, "Hi George." "Yes, may I help you?" He asks with a straight face. Why is he suddenly acting like he doesn't know her? Is something the matter? "Well, do you know if l will be allowed to go into the VIP suite and serve the guests drinks?" "The underboss is the one at the VIP suite, he will order for drinks if he wants." "Oh." He arches his eyebrows at her, "You seem like you specifically want to serve him." "Well, em...I em...Not really, I only wanted to know if I can go there." She feigns laughter. "Besides, I don't even know the underboss is the one there." She defends herself. He just nods and turns away taking up the glass of wine on the table without saying any more word to her. "Please give me a wine and three glasses." She says to the bartender. The bartender turns to her. "Which wine?" "Give me um...Give me any one." The bartender nods and brings out a wine. He places the wine a tray along with three glasses and gives it to her. She smiles at him, "Thank you." She takes the wine and starts walking to the VIP suite slowly. When she gets to the entrance, the men stop her. "You can't go in." Kemi sighs, "The underboss asked me to get these" She lies with a straight face. That is the only way she can get in. She has no idea if she would see him again till the end of the party so she has to go to him now or the consigliere will have her head. The guards look at her for a while before allowing her in. She carries the tray in her hands and walks inside. As soon as she enters, they all turn to her and Robert points his gun at her. She panics and the tray of wine in her hands fall down on the ground and shatters. Her body trembles in fear and she raises her hands up in fear. "Who are you?" Robert asks her still pointing the gun at her. "You're scaring her Robert." One of the guys sitting beside Lexis says. Erica turns to her and looks at her from head to toe. "What is it that you want?" She asks. "I...I came with your...." "I think she's the person meant to bring the drink to us." Another guy sitting at Lexis's right side, says. Erica stands up from the sofa and walks over to where she stands. She watches her hand as it trembles, her body and her facial expression; she knows at once that she's not here to serve them drinks. "Why are you here?" She asks again with a serious look. "I missed my way, I'm sorry." Kemi quickly says. "And how's that possible? The guards are there." "They..They allowed me in so I didn't know this place was limited." Erica turns to Robert. "Go handle the guards." Kemi bits her lips as she feels bad for lying against the guards but she has no choice. She has to save herself first. "There is a VIP sign clearly written at the entrance." Erica points out. Kemi bit her lips, "I didn't see it, I'm really sorry." Robert comes back in and stands beside Erica. "Take this girl away and investigate her properly" She says to Robert. Kemi's eyes widen in shock. She can't be investigated! She would be found out before she even starts. "Yes Capo." Robert says before grabbing Kemi by the wrist. "Come with me." He says to Kemi and she panics. She can't be taken away, no no. She has to do something, and quick. Robert starts dragging her away but she struggles with him. "Let me go!" She yells, making everyone in the room, except Lexis, shocked. Lexis turns around to look at the situation. His eyes meet Kemi's and he stares at her. This, why does she look familiar? He asks inwardly. It seems like he had seen her before but he doesn't know where. "Tell your guard to let go of mel! I didn't even do anything wrong!" Kemi yells directly at Lexis. She didn't know where she's getting the confidence but she just keeps doing whenever comes her head. This people will not hesitate to kill her if she does not put up a fight. Erica scoffs, "Robert, take this prostitute away from here!" She yells in anger. Robert starts dragging Kemi away again and she tries to drag her hand away but he's too strong. Then, she suddenly kicks him on his d**k and he screams out in pain holding it. Erica stares at her in surprise. "Did you just.." "It's fine Erica." Lexis finally speaks getting up from the sofa. He walks over to where Kemi stands. "You say you missed your way?" Lexis asks staring right into her eyes. Kemi opens her mouth to talk but his stare too intimidating. This good looking guy just keeps looking at her without even breaking away as if seeing through her. What if she says something wrong? "Ye..Yes." She stutters. He smirks, "I see. I did order for wine but not ocean beach, I asked for laMotte parrot." She shuts her eyes. LaMotte what now? She has been caught. She didn't know which wine to bring so she just asked the bartender for anything. "I em..I brought the, the wrong wine then." She quickly lies. He scoffs, "l also asked for four glasses." Kemi shut her eyes; she's definitely going to get caught. "Well em..that isn't my fault because that is what I was told to bring." "By who?" Kemi bit her lips, "By.. By the bartender?" The two guys that was sitting with Lexis burst into laughter. "Aww, she's so cute, she must have been dying to see you Lexis, that's why she did this." One of the guys says laughing but Lexis isn't smiling. It's not like he ever does anyway. Lexis stares at her without saying a word, as if waiting for her to say something. She stares back at him and sighs. "Fine...I came here on propose." She finally says. She has already been caught. What more could happen? They all turn to her in surprise as if not expecting her to say that. "Whoah, she's not even scared to admit it? I'm liking this girl" The other guy says. "I have been hearing about this underboss and it intrigued me. So I decided to see for myself, why you're so...why you're so.." Oh God, what would she say next? —"Why are you so feared and respected?" She has no idea what she's even saying. " I don't see the reason though." She crosses he arms across her chest staring at him. (Well done Kemi, that was so brave of you. Now prepare to be buried.) Her innermost mind reminds her. "Did she mean she doesn't find anything special in you?" The first guy says again in awe. "Wow, I never knew such boldness exists Lexis. I'm liking this girl." Lexis didn't say anything. He just keeps staring at her with blank expression on his face, as if not shocked by her outburst. "Robert." He calls and Robert bows before him. "Take her away." He says plainly. Panic and fear runs through Kemi, she has failed. She didn't only fail but she's also going to be killed! Robert moves to touch her but she withdraws her hand. "And where is he taking me?" She asks looking straight at Lexis as if expecting him to answer. Lexis sighs and turns around to start walking away while Robert lifts her up by her legs and places her on his shoulders. "No! Put me down! Leave me!" She struggles on his shoulder. Erica keeps staring at her trying to recall where he had seen her. Suddenly, it clicks, she's the girl George asked her to take to the consigliere's room. She quickly walks over to where Lexis sits and whispers in his ear. "...I also heard that he specifically went to the secret hideout to rescue her from been punished by the auctioning supervisor." Lexis looks at her. "William went to rescue her?" "Yes underboss." Erica nods. "She has to be investigated underboss." She adds. Lexis turns to the entrance. "Tell Robert to take her to the underground prison." He says to Erica and she nods before going out. Lexis turns to his two guests. They were both the sons of affluent men in the country who partners with all kinds of criminal agents. "Lets get back to where we were gentlemen." Robert receives Erica's message and takes her down to the dungeon. Kemi keeps struggling with him along the way but when she keeps screaming; he hit her on the neck making her faint immediately. He carries her down to the dungeon, the only place everyone dreads to go to. He enters in and leaves her on the cold floor. There are other prisoners there who are chained and they all look tortured. The party at the hall is still going on and then, Lexis comes out to address everyone. He checks the girls and tells his brother in front of everyone, to train his girls properly before the audition, embarrassing him in the process. He then leaves the party with his guard and Robert. "Is she there?" He asks Robert as soon as they come out from the hall. "Yes underboss." Robert nods. Lexis nods, "Lead me there." At the dungeon, Kemi wakes up and she stares around in confusion, wondering where she is. She looks around but the whole place is dark and she can't see a thing. Where is the world is she? She manages to stand up but she pauses in the process when she hears a loud growl or a roar? "What is that??" She murmurs wondering what could be in this place she has no idea of. The growl becomes closer and she starts moving backwards. That sound cannot be from a human being. What on earth is in this place? The growl becomes and closer and she keeps moving backwards until her back hits the wall. Where would she go to? She cannot even see anything. She starts moving to the side and suddenly she steps on something which makes a cracking sound. Her eyes widen and she hears the growl again. She's in a place where there's a huge monster which she cannot even see and if she doesn't come out of here, it would be the end of her story. She moves again stepping on another thing which makes the thing growls again and this time she feels it very close to her. Her heart pounds in her chest as she stands close to the wall in fear. "Help me God." She whispers. Suddenly she feels something like fangs, pierce through her leg and she screams in pain. It is so painful that she feels all the energy in her is being drained off. Tears rolls down her cheeks as she struggles to remove her leg from whatever the thing is but it's grip was too strong. Suddenly, light shines inside the dark place and he sees two figures entering inside before her vision suddenly goes blank. Lexis enters the dungeon and sees the Leopard at the edge of eaty off Kemi's leg. He runs over to where the animal is and places his hand on it's body to grab it's attention. The leopard turns to him letting go of Kemi. It growls at him moving at him as it has found a new target. Lexis puts out a syringe from his pocket and as the animal charges at him, he slides below it through the ground injecting the syringe into it's neck. The leopard growls loudly before slumping on the ground. Lexis pants and stands up before turning to Robert. "Check her." Robert nods and runs to where Kemi lies. "It bit her but luckily enough, it isn't deep. Oniy a scratch but she needs to be treated by a doctor fast." Lexis nods, "I thought the Leopard is supposed to be in chains? Who freed it?" "That's our carelessness underboss." Robert bows. Lexis sighs and shakes his head. "Take her to my mansion." Robert turns to him in shock. "Your...Your mansion?" Lexis didn't say anything more and simply turns around and walks away. Robert watches him leave in disbelief. He stares at Kemi and then at her legs. "She can be treated here though. I don't just trust this girl." He murmurs looking at Kemi with dislike before taking her up in his arms. He hurries out of the dungeon and instructed some men to put the Leopard in chains. He carries her to the car and takes her to the mansion before bringing her into the guest room. He places her on the bed and Henry walks in. "Who is she?" Henry asks staring at her. "All you need to know is that she brings trouble." Robert says and shakes his head. Henry chuckles, "Oh come-on Robert. This is the first time I'm seeing a woman apart from a maid in the underboss's mansion. Who is she and why is she injured?" He asks Iooking straight at Kemi's injured leg." Robert sighs, "She was almost eaten by the leopard at the dungeon today. Luckily enough, we got there in time." "We?" Henry questioned. "The underboss and I." "And why would the underboss save someone in the dungeon?" "I guess he wants to investigate her, she's very suspicious." Robert says. Henry nods, "Oh I see. Okay then." Robert's phone vibrates and he deeps his hand into his pocket to take it out. He slides to answer. "Yes Capo." "Call the underboss' doctor to take care of the girl." Erica says from the other end of the call. "The underboss' doctor?" "Stop f**king asking questions and do as I say." "Yes capo." The call goes dead and he turns to Henry. "Stay here and watch her, I have to make a call." Henry nods, "Sure." *The Family Mansion* At the family mansion, Lexis sits in his meeting room going through some files. He knows very well that the girl was acting suspicious but he just doesn't know what she wants. What was she trying to do? Get his attention? She would have been killed in the dudgeon if he hadn't gotten there in time. He thought the Leopard in the dungeon would be chained. It is only not in chain when it's needed to take care of a prisoner, but since there was no prisoner, why wasn't it in chains? He sighs and stands up from the chair before he comes out of the room and makes his way downstairs. As he reaches the ground floor, he sees William's mother standing in front of him and he sighs. What does she want and why is she standing in front of him now? "What do you want?" "I was hoping I would get a chance to talk to you, I.." He cuts her off, "Listen, Angie, I'm busy right now.
