I walk towards the exit door and Mycole chases me from behind. I didn't say anything to them, my heart did burn, but what could I have said? Mycole isn't my boyfriend and I have no hold on him whatsoever, and so I said my goodbyes and walk away. Walking away might not be the best approach, but at least I didn't stand and wallow in my pain. "Taylor, wait up please." Mycole calls from behind and I quicken up my pace. I raise my hand to the coming taxi and it begins to slow down as it approaches my post. "Taylor." Mycole catches my hand and turns me to look at him. "Let me go, Mycole," I said, trying not to lose my temper and yell at him in the public. "Why are you being this way?" His eyes show he's confused. I roll my eyes, "Go back in there and continue what it was you two were doing, and do better to replace her with me on your date." "We weren't doing anything, we were just talking." Which Monk cave did he crawl from? "She was flirting with you her hands were all over you! Are you so blind to see that? Or do you need her tongue first to realise what she was doing?" I ask, furious with the thought all over again. "I didn't notice–" He paused a little, scratching his head. "Okay that's lame and I'm sorry." The taxi driver presses his horn and we both jump. "You know what? Forget it." I tell him a little disappointed at the outcome of everything today. I open the taxi door and enter. "Here's the address," I tell the driver handing over my home address to him as the car moves. I arrive at home and after paying for the taxi, I walk straight into my room and fall on the bed. Tears begin to fall from my face and I can't wrap my hand around the reason why I'm crying, so I just let them fall. I cover my face with a pillow as my door opens slightly, the footstep grows closer and I groan angrily. "Go away, I want to be alone." I whimper into the pillow softly. "Are you crying?" Jake asks with a tone of concern as he walks closer. "No, I'm laughing out water." Sarcasm isn't my strongest defence right now, but his question seems to awaken a quick comeback. I hear him chuckles and I feel him take a seat on the bed and his hand touches my shoulder. "Bad day huh?" "Yes." I nod and begin to sit up with the pillow between my arms. He gives me sad eyes and ruffles my hair. "I'm sorry." "I'm just confused," I mutter dully under my breath and Jake who seems to hear touches my hand. "About who? Mycole or Rory." We hear Jack ask from across the door and our eyes dart out to Josh and Jack as they walk in. I should have known, the three are inseparable. Jack is in his boxers and a white singlet while Josh is wearing a grey short sleeve and a short knicker. Josh take a sit on a stool close to my bed whole Jack lean over the bed stand. "Rory." I sigh, wiping my tears off. "Maybe because you like him and he's going to be married to Paris," Josh says out loud, clearly taken in thought. "No, I do not," I reply defensively. "He's so full of himself and I don't know what to do. He just always on my back and he acts like a jerk almost always." That seems to cause a brief silence to stir in the room. What can I say? The three Js aren't idiots. Jack chuckles is what breaks the silence. "Look, Taylor, I might not be smart–" Jake huffs loudly, "That's so true." Jack glares at him for interrupting him. "Like I was saying. I might not be a smart ass like Jake, but we know you love Rory which would have been great except he's already someone else's." He takes a hard breathe and puts his right hand on his chest as if to pledge. "This goes against everything I believe in, but I think you should not be anyone's second-best just because they are rich enough to save us from poverty." "That must have taken all your guts to say," Josh says. "I'm sorry, did you say something?" Jack inclines his head to frown at Josh. "I said–" Josh begins to say, but Jake cuts him short. "Enough we are not helping Taylor by fighting." Jake touches my shoulder tenderly, giving me the sad eyes I'm beginning to dislike. "Do you want to tell us what happened?" I tell them everything that happened from the morning till my closing hour and no part is left out. "He wants to make you his mistress huh?" Jack mumble aloud and no one can miss the interest in his voice. "Shut it, Jack, she's not considering it." "But Jack is." Jack shrugs not arguing Josh fact but says "Nah, I'm not considering it. I would have, but then again I'm already a lesbian." A stupid smug smile dances on his lips. We all roll our eyes and Jake shakes his head in pity. "He'll never be smart." "I heard that," Jack answers pointedly, his smile slowly fading. "There's a reason I didn't whisper." Jake hiss. Sometimes I wonder how I have survived the last seventeen years that the three J's have been in existence. "What I can't believe is how Mycole would let your boss throw herself at him when he's coming to pick you up on a date. It doesn't make sense." Josh blurts out in disbelief. "It doesn't, but I don't want to compete with Paris for anything." "She is going to take advantage of you, sister, I know her type." I give Josh a smile that doesn't reach my eyes. "I know." She only wants to use me, so does Rory, but the last thing I plan on doing is giving them that satisfaction. "Girls are complicated," Jack says with a hiss. "She's going to be married to the son of the richest man alive what else can she ask for?" A light knock comes on my door and we all take a glance at the door to see Mycole. He gives the three Js a nervous awkward smile and lastly his eyes lands on me. "Your Mom let me in, she said you were also in your room, but I didn't know they were here." I can hear his rambling, better than his words. Jack glares at him and folds his hand over his chest. "What do you want? I thought you've got a new girl now?" "That's ridiculous." Mycole blurts out with a weird face. "My fist isn't." Jack reminds him in a hard tone, clenching his fist and making Mycole gulp in fear. Mycole's gaze catches me unaware and I so hate how vulnerable it makes me feel. "Please can we talk?" I do want to say no, but then he's Mycole William, no doesn't exist in his dictionary. "Yea." I nod and fold my legs up to my chest. I look at the three J's who are giving me killer, confused, and shocked looks and smile. "You guys go, I'll be fine." Jake squeezes my hand and stands up to looks me in the eyes, "No matter what happens-" "Do not forgive him." Jack loudly interrupts, finishing Jake sentence. "We are going for Bible study, Taylor, see you later," Josh say and they say their goodbyes before walking out, Mycole steps away from the door and they close it. Silently Mycole moves from the door over to the stool beside my bed where Josh was sitting earlier. He bites hard on his lips and plays with his finger, a reaction I've known only happens when he is nervous. "Before you say anything, I just want to say I'm sorry for everything and I just hope you can forgive me and not be mad at me anymore." "I was never mad, just angry," I confess, leaning in to rest my chin on the pillow trapped between my knees. "I don't know what to say, Taylor, I'm sorry." "I'm not mad at you, just tired." "Really?" His eyes light up and he breathes down in relief. "I can't be mad at you." "Are you lying?" Yes "No, I'm not," I reply instead.
