Violet. "Wake up." My body is being shaken back and forth, dragging me out of a deep slumber. I groan, hating whoever is rudely forcing me awake. "Babe, Devil's going to check on me soon. Wake up." My brother? The f**k does he have to do with my beauty sleep? "Babe!" "What?!" I half-scream. Killer is sitting just inches from my face, frustration and amusement written all over him. "You need to go," he says. I groan again and rub the sleep from my eyes. "How long have I been sleeping?" "No idea. I fell asleep with you after my anger started to fade." I hum in response and get up from the floor. "See you later then," I mumble as I walk toward the door. "Not even a goodbye kiss?" Killer chuckles darkly, spinning me around in his arms and stealing a kiss for his own pleasure. My knees nearly buckle under the sudden heat of lust, but I quickly recover and match him with the same force. By the time we pull apart, we're both breathing heavily, pupils blown. With a lot of willpower, I step away from his all-too-welcoming body. "Bye," I say breathlessly, hating the vulnerability I always feel around him. 1 quickly make my way to my own room and find Haru leaning against the door with a smug grin on her face. "And where did you go, my little rebel child?" she asks, wiggling her eyebrows. "f**k off," I laugh, pushing her away from the door so I can go inside. Of course, she follows me before I can slam the door in her face and flops onto my bed, giving me a look that demands answers. "So…?" she prods after I pretend to be busy inspecting the room I pull off my clothes and toss them across the room before sitting down half-naked on the floor. I fish a cigarette from one of the half-full packs lying around and light it. "Soooo, what?" "Oh, cut the crap, Violet! I saw you come out of the rooms! Who are you f*****g? Tell me!" 1.9 < Let Me Join "s**t, stop screaming. It would be bad if Devil found out." "I kind of want to see that," Haru says with a sinister grin. "Girl, you're f****d up." I shake my head, laughing and taking a drag. +15 Points > "Old news. Now tell me. You always tell me everything." Haru pouts, but I can see the small sting of hurt behind her eyes. "Fine… I'm trying… working something… I don't f*****g know myself. I'm doing a thing with Killer?" Even I don't know what we're doing. Boyfriend and girlfriend sounds too normal-and we're not even f*****g. So, what are we? "Okay, and what does that even mean?" Haru looks just as confused as I feel. "We talked. He wants to try something. I don't know. We talked about our lives and stuff, and-" "Wait, does he know?" Haru asks sharply, suddenly less amused. "Yeah." "Violet, what the f**k! You can't just tell some random dude that s**t. What if-" I cut her off, raising a hand. "Stop. He won't. He told me some serious s**t before I told him mine. And besides, Haru, it's my life, just as much as yours is yours. Our lives collide, but that doesn't mean I have to stay quiet just because you want to keep yours a secret. You can't make that decision for me." Haru bites her lip and looks away, her gaze falling out the window beside my bed. "I know. But still… I don't want to be that broken, f****d-up girl, you know? I don't need pity from people here." "You won't get that. Trust me. I have a feeling a lot of these guys have shitty pasts too." She doesn't reply. She flops back down, pulls my blanket over her, and rests her head on my pillow. "I'm tired. Let's talk about this tomorrow," she mutters. I chuckle and finish my cigarette, then pull on a fresh pair of underwear and a thin tank top before sliding into bed beside her. "Goodnight, sis. Sorry if I looked mad," Haru whispers. "It's okay. I understand. Now sleep." Loud yells wake me up. I jump out of bed and shake Haru, who, somehow, is still asleep despite the noise from outside. "Dude, wake up!" I shout as gunshots ring through the air. 215 < Let Me Join "W-what?" she mumbles, burying her face deeper in the pillow like nothing's happening. "f*****g hell, Haru!" The door bursts open and RT steps inside. +15 Points > "I don't know what the f**k's going on out there, but they probably need help. Leave Haru here-it's safer," he tells me, gripping two guns in his hands. I can't see which kinds in the dark, and honestly, I don't care. I grab a pair of hot pants, my hunter knife, and my Glock. Weapons in hand, I follow RT out. I glance at Haru one last time before locking the door behind me. We head downstairs into a f*****g war zone. Men are yelling, barking orders. A body-someone I don't recognize-is slumped over the bar. Bullets fly in every direction, tearing holes through walls and floors. "Take cover!" RT yells. I raise an eyebrow. "Don't forget where I came from, RT. Don't worry about me!" I shout back. I sprint toward the bar and leap over it, making it my personal fort. I crawl to the other side and gain a clear view of the chaos outside. These guys aren't Road Riders. They don't even look like bikers. I take position and start picking off as many gunmen as I can. "******g hell," someone mutters beside me. I turn to see Sherlock crouched two feet away. "You okay?" I grin. He glares. "Do I look okay?" 1 laugh. He's too damn adorable. Not the fighting type, more the techy info-gathering kind. "You got a gun at least?" I ask. "No," he says, reaching under the bar and pulling open a hidden compartment. "Now I do." He grins boyishly. "Good boy" I wink, then refocus on the shooters. After what feels like hours, the shootout dies down. "How many casualties?!" Devil roars. "Two prospects dead, Cig's shot in the leg and shoulder… and Grim's dead." I don't know who Grim is, but I assume he's the biker slumped over the bar. "f**k," I hear Say growl. 3/5
