"She's fine, she has a high fever but no complications," Keisha said while preparing her things to leave. "There's not need to worry." "What should I need to give her later?" I ask. "Just give her a paracetamol that I give," she smiled at me. "If there is still a fever just paracetamol but if there is no just let her drink a lot of fluid, instead. That's all." "Thanks, Keisha." "You're always welcome. You can call me anytime." I send Keisha outside the house. When she leaves, I go back quickly in our room and seat beside Lileth. She had a fever because she stay on the veranda until morning and soaked in the cold then dried up. I didn't really let her in and I fell asleep and when I woke up I saw her on the floor. I thought she was sleeping but when I give her a light kick I found out that she fainted. That's why I called Keisha, Zeus' cousin, to check up on her. Lileth has a fever. Earlier her fever had risen to 40 degrees and she was shivering. She even hallucinates and calls her mom. I admit that I feel sorry for her but it doesn't mean I have forgiven her. I want her to bring her in the hospital instead that's why I called her. I sit beside her and look at her peacefully sleeping. I sighed and look up the ceiling and look at her again. This is not what I dreamed of for us. This is not the life I want for her. This is not how I want to live with her. I want is for us to be happy. To build a happy family with her. To have kids and be happy. Though, I know that there is no perfect relationship but at least not like this. But what she did? She broke our dream. She broke my love, my trust, and my plan for us. She hurt me. She broke me. She not only hurt me but she destroyed me. She took away my confidence because of what she did. All my life with her I just felt that I was capable of being me. All my life I was always second to everyone but when she came I was always first to her. She made me feel like I was the best of them all. she make feel that I am the luckiest man alive when she love me. She always put me first in any decision. She always chose me. But what did she do? She's hiding me. She cheats on me. She destroys me. Now I even questioned myself as to where I was lacking and what mistake I had made to make her do that to me. Whether she really loved me or she was just forcing herself on me because she had no choice. If what she did to me was real or just she pretended so that I can stay with her. I began to doubt our most happy memories, her love, her reaction, and everything she did to me. All this wouldn't have happened to us if she hadn't deceived me. If she hadn't hurt me. If she had been true to me. If she tells me the truth. This wouldn't happen if she had been honest with me. I heard a knock. My forehead furrowed so I stood up and headed for the door. I saw one of the maids standing outside. "What do you want?" "Sir Dave, your brother is outside," I frowned and shut the bedroom door. "Who's brother?" "Sir Dale." What is he doing here? I don't have anything with him. "Who's with him?" "He's the only one sir," I walked towards Dale who was standing outside and turning his back. HIs hands move as if holding something. I will assume that maybe it's his act. "What are you doing here?" I ask him. He quickly turned to me and smiled at me. "I came from the vet to check on my cat. "And since it's close by, I decided to come here to check on you," he replied, referring to the one-month-old Asheera cat he is currently holding, before looking around. "Where's Lileth?" he added and look everywhere. "Sleeping," I simple answered. "Won't you let me in? Maybe you can offer me a drink?" I am hesitant to let him in. That is why I talk to him bluntly. "I won't take too long, brother." "I hate scumbag, leave that outside." I take a look at his cat. I really hates animals, mostly hairy. "What scumbag are you talking about? It is even cleaner in the conscience of politicians. Haven't you been used to it since we were kids?" He also followed and entered first. "Let's go, don't worry, Lalat. Daddy Dale won't leave you outside, and don't mind Uncle Dave because that's really bitter for furry, unlike daddy who loves thick fur." "Tss!" I could do nothing but let him because even if I rebuked him I knew I would not stop him either. When we are inside we saw the maid carrying food for Lileth. I look at her looking at me asking for my permission by her looks. I sigh before nodding and waiting for Dale's reaction. "Excuse me, where are you taking that?" Dale asked her as I expected. The maid looked at me so I answered. "Lileth is sick, she will bring her food." "Sick? she's sick and you didn't take her to the hospital?" he asked me with a frown giving me a questioning look as if I committed a crime. "She only had a fever. I already call doc Keisha to check up on her and she said she's ok." I motioned for the maid to proceed and confronted Dale again. "She's ok, simple fever and cold but she's ok." "Did Dylan know?" I frowned, and I didn't like his question. That asshole, is he important in our marriage? "What does Dylan care?" "They're friends, remember? They're supposed to be -----" "She's my wife. Dylan has nothing to do with her illness and cannot assist." "Even though, he must at least know about her. You should at the very least inform him." "And you will tell him?" "Are you hiding something from us, Dave?" I did not like what he was saying. As if he just came here to investigate us. "What are you talking about?" "Because we notice that you and Lileth don't seem happy anymore and Dylan is right that since you and Lileth got married, she looks unhappy. She is not the same as she was. She changed, and we can see that in her eyes." "Are you accusing me of hurting her? just like what dad said?" "No, I am trying to that something is off between the two of and you have to be careful." "What are you trying to say, Dale?" "Nothing, just want to let you know that whatever it is just be careful. Because first, Dylan is the one you can fight. Secondly, daddy is his back-up." Then he stepped forward. "I'll go. I think it was wrong for me to enter." He was about to leave when I called him so he stopped. "So, you just came here to check up on us? Is that is, Dale? You came her to investigate us? Did Dylan tell you to come?" "I told you why I came, I was just passing by," and then he turned around, but I blocked him. "You're overreacting, Dave; obviously, you're hiding something." "Don't mess up with my private life, Dale. Mostly, with me and my wife. Don't dare to interrupt with us." "I don't care about you. What I am trying to say is to warn you that you have to be careful because everyone is watching and not just everyone but a powerful one. Been there and done that, don't repeat my mistakes older brother if you don't want to be ruined in the eyes of the family forever just because of a mistake that even if you try to correct it, it is useless." And he left. I clenched my fist when I did not see him. I know what he means. I look at the door of our room. Is it still my fault if she's having a hard time? While she is the one to blame for why we ended up like this. Damn woman ever.
