Jiang Wanfeng and the other members of Team Good were quietly cheering Bai Wan on from the sidelines. Meanwhile, Yang Yujie and the others were watching his performance with intense focus. This “Liu Tong" had always been shrouded in mystery. No one could tell what other trump cards he might be hiding. Sure, one of his known skills could make doors disappear—totally useless on an open sports field—and that terrifying Kirin lightning attack probably had a usage limit. Even if it didn’t, it was a single-target move. It wouldn’t be much help once a crowd of ghost students started swarming him. “If he just dies during the physical test, that’d be perfect,” Yang Yujie muttered. That would save them the trouble of taking him out themselves and they could split the bounty on him evenly. “Enough. Watch carefully. This guy’s not that simple,” Li Wei said, eyes fixed on the youth standing in the center of the field. Anyone who could insta-kill Blank couldn’t possibly be an easy target. Su Yuening was also watching from the side, quietly observing Bai Wan's test. She wasn’t the least bit worried about him. She knew all too well how many trump cards Bai Wan had up his sleeve. What she’s curious about…was whether he could break the current record. According to official statistics, the best anyone had done was surviving five waves. As the headless PE teacher gave the signal, a ghost student sauntered onto the field. It grinned savagely the moment it spotted Bai Wan and rushed straight at him. This one clearly paid attention in gym class—it was charging fast. But in that instant, a flash of white light appeared and a twin-headed sunflower sprouted atop Bai Wan’s shoulder. He lightly tapped it with his hand. A massive wall-nut slammed down right in front of the ghost student, staring blankly at it with its dopey, vacant eyes. The ghost student froze, baffled. This was the first time it had ever seen a walnut this huge. What the hell is this thing, genetically modified? It hesitated for a moment before lunging forward and biting into it like a maniac. Meanwhile, Bai Wan’s sunflower and that giant Wall-nut had already stunned the other players. “Wait a minute… is that a Plants vs. Zombies’ sunflower and walnut?” Yang Yujie exclaimed. Bai Wan’s character skill is… Plants vs. Zombies themed? He can actually summon plants? What kind of absurd ability is that? But then… how does that explain the Kirin lightning and the vanishing door? The audience was confused. “Damn… this skill is way too busted. He can summon Wall-nuts? That’s—WHAT THE HELL?!” Chu Mo was just about to complain about how OP his skill was, when she saw something even more outrageous. Bai Wan pulled a hammer out of nowhere and rushed past the Wall-nut—WHAM!! He slammed the glowing blue hammer right into the ghost student’s face. The ghost student hadn’t even seen it coming and was knocked flat. But that wasn’t what shocked everyone most—it was what came out of the ghost student next. Two gleaming coins flew out and bounced on the ground. Su Yuening was stupefied. Even she wasn’t expecting that. The ghost student itself was utterly dumbfounded. Wait, what? I… drop coins now?? It shivered involuntarily. Bai Wan was grinning at it, and that terrifying blue hammer came swinging again— BANG! It got pounded straight into the ground. Ding-ling! Another two Mario Coins popped out. As the hammer absorbed them, it gleamed even brighter. And then… the nightmare began. Bai Wan’s smile turned kindly—almost gentle, but the more coins the hammer absorbed, the faster it became. Soon, he was spinning, hammer in hand, laughing as he yelled: “Taste my Whirlwind Hammer Style—every swing hits harder than the last! HAHAHAHAHA!” The ghost student couldn’t stop dropping coins. It was practically crying as Bai Wan went to town on it. Eventually, even the headless PE teacher couldn’t take it anymore. “Hey! You there! Stop with your Whirlwind Hammer Style! The thirty seconds are up!” Bai Wan paused, slightly disappointed. “Huh? That was thirty seconds already? It felt so short…” “Stop now or you’ll be punished for bullying your classmates!” the headless teacher snapped. Bai Wan spread his hands helplessly in surrender. The ghost student ran off the field in sheer terror. It had always heard about how bad campus bullying could get—it just never imagined that even after becoming a ghost, it still couldn’t escape such atrocities. The players were all stunned. What…what kind of test is this again? Bullying ghost classmates?! That’s a thing now?! Chu Mo and the others had all barely scraped by with their test rounds. Why was Bai Wan the only one chasing down his opponent and pummeling them? Were they even playing the same game? “That hammer’s insane…” Li Wei muttered, eyes glinting with envy. It didn’t look like a paranormal item, which meant it didn’t consume coins. Yet it could smack ghosts around and drop Mario Coins? That was nuts. Su Yuening, too, looked baffled. Where did Bai Wan find that hammer…? Before anyone could recover from the shock, Round Two began. This time, Bai Wan summoned two Snow Peashooters. Whoosh whoosh! Their icy blue forms appeared, instantly making the temperature on the field drop several degrees. Facing three incoming ghost students, the Snow Peashooters opened fire with a barrage of frozen peas. The ghosts slowed under the frost, their movements sluggish and panicked—just in time to see Bai Wan charging at them with a cheerful smile. BAM BAM BAM! Down they went. Then came Round Three. Bai Wan summoned two more Snow Peashooters. A full squad of four lined up in formation. With freezing fire from all directions, the nine ghost students were quickly frozen in place. Terrified at the charging Bai Wan, they turned to the PE teacher and cried in unison: “Teacher! He’s bullying us!!” The headless teacher picked up its head, looked at the one human on the field… then at the nine trembling ghosts. After a long pause, it finally scolded Bai Wan: “Stop bullying your classmates!” “…You’ve got to be kidding me,” Bai Wan muttered. I’m one guy. They’re nine. Who’s bullying who here?! “You’ve shown impressive strength,” the teacher said at last. “Skip Round Four — go straight to Round Five.” A full eighty-one ghost students marched onto the field. The wave of paranormal energy rolled across the stadium like a tidal wave, forming a thick miasma. The oppressive aura made everyone watching gasped in cold breath. “Eighty-one? That’s insane… No wonder it’s the record,” Chu Mo murmured, stunned. “Yeah…even he can’t hold out against this,” Li Wei said, imagining himself in Bai Wan’s place—and dying within one second flat. “But still… I didn’t expect him to be this strong,” Yang Yujie admitted. She couldn’t help but feel a tinge of admiration. This was the record. Bai Wan had officially matched the highest achievement in this dungeon. The newbie players from Team Good were all starry-eyed. Jiang Wanfeng’s eyes were sparkling. He’s so cool…When can I be strong like that? Is this what it’s like to clear an unsolvable dungeon? Su Yuening, though, wasn’t surprised in the slightest. These other players had no idea what she and Bai Wan had gone through in “The Letter.” He was the kind of person who had fought through an entire haunted graveyard alone—and he wasn’t even going all out yet. She was sure even Round Five wouldn’t stop him. Bai Wan stood calmly as the eighty-one ghosts swarmed around him, no fear, no hesitation. He pulled out the Large Sunshine Mushroom and fed it to the sunflower on his shoulder. The sunflower smiled brightly. Then, with a single touch—A monstrous hybrid plant rose up in the center of the field. Dozens of peashooter heads were grafted together in a grotesque yet majestic formation, swaying ominously in the wind. The Peashooter Fountain had arrived. Unlike the game version, this one could rotate its heads freely to aim in any direction. Click…Dozens of pea-shooting mouths all locked on to the ghost crowd. For some reason, every ghost on the field felt a shiver run down their spines—like something truly horrible was about to happen. But it wasn’t over. Bai Wan stroked the sunflower again. A giant wall-nut appeared—this one engulfed in ghostly blue flames. The temperature of the entire stadium spiked instantly. And then… the players witnessed a spectacle they would never forget for the rest of their lives. The Peashooter Fountain gave a sudden gleam. Dozens of gigantic peas rocketed into the sky like a volley of cannons. The storm of peas looked like a barrage of bullets from a firing line of machine guns. The firing rate was unreal—before the first wave finished, another barrage was already in the air. The paranormal miasma that had filled the stadium was obliterated and cleared out instantly. In the middle of it all, the Ghostflame Wall-nut burned silently—projecting an invisible domain of cursed fire. Every pea that passed through it… was set ablaze. The sky rained down ghostfire peas—like molten meteors falling from heaven. Somewhere, Pompeii was taking notes. Hi everyone, Yue here.
