Chapter 0029 Caroline’s POV : Martin’s offer was tempting , but my guilt was overwhelming , I already depended on him for so much , and while he assured me he was just trying to be a good friend , I was surely taking advantage of him . He was a charming gentleman who led a successful life , and if the shameless flirtation from that pretty doctor was anything to go by , he was going to have a girlfriend , too . The very idea of Martin needing my help was ridiculous . Shamefully , it was always me who was the damsel in distress . A soft quiet enveloped the luxury car as Martin contemplated my words . “ Alright then , ” he said finally “ Come on , let me take you to lunch . I can contact a few agencies for you . Besides , you’ve lost a lot of blood , so you need to eat something . I offered a kind smile and refrained from arguing with him this time , allowing him to drive . me to a lovely little joint where we had a nice meal and talked freely . Shockingly , the real state agency he recommended found me a stunning little home in a little under an hour . Martin bore a conflicted look as he helped me store some of my clothes . “ William had a lot of evidence on your father , and that video wasn’t doing him any good . Do you think your father could have … ? ” I fixed Martin with a scathing glare before he could finish his insinuation . William was undoubtedly furious that I skipped out on the physical exam , but I didn’t care , and I deleted any voicemails he left me without sparing an ear . After all the nonsense he’d put me through , I just wanted him to leave me alone .
