---- A villager informed me that a child Eliza saved ended up vomiting and feeling dizzy after going home. Later on, the child died for some reason, and the parents immediately assumed Eliza had caused his death. That wasn't true, of course. It was the child's parents who ignored her medical advice. The child ended up eating something he shouldn't have and died asa result. I was a little stunned when I heard that. Eliza had to be rushed to the hospital in the nearest town. Alas, she had suffered too heavy a beating. That, combined with her naturally frail constitution, put her in a coma. She had to be taken back to Northcrest at once. I brought her to a hospital in Northcrest. Her parents, who had been informed, rushed over and nearly fainted from all their crying. It didn't look like the Stewarts recognized me. They just kept thanking me. I didn't bother telling them my name. ---- When they left to settle Eliza's medical fees, she regained consciousness and opened her eyes just a little. She took my hand and said slowly, "Although I was unconscious, I heard everything. Thank you." I simply said I did what was right. Once the Stewarts came back, I quickly left the hospital. Later on, I heard that she succumbed to her injuries and passed away. I was still working in the village when that happened. After hearing about it, all I could do was sigh. As with all things, this, too, would pass in time.
