Another werewolf sneered. "Ms. Taylor said as long as she doesn't die, we can go as rough as we want. With a babe like this, of course we're gonna have some fun..." The group of werewolves burst into laughter. I felt utterly hopeless. I never imagined Taylor would resort to this kind of humiliation, trying to break me down like this. I stared coldly at the werewolf in front of me. "Do you even know who I am?" One of them, grinning lewdly, said, "Of course I do. You're our little toy. I'll take real good care of you soon..." Another one, a bit more informed, added, "Raelyn Beck, Eclipse Pack's fiancée... and a singer too, huh? Tsk. Think she'll sound better when she screams?" I glared at them. "You dare touch the Eclipse Pack's fiancée? Aren't you afraid they'll come after you?" The werewolf shook his head and laughed wildly. "You're just a low-ranking Omega. In their eyes, if your reputation gets ruined, they'll probably just break off the engagement. Ms. Beck, quit thinking so much- just enjoy yourself." The group cackled again. One of them even began stripping off his clothes. They started closing in on me. I panicked and called out to Freya over and over again, but she still didn't respond. The Wolfsbane was too strong. If I weren't Alpha-level, I probably would've died already. No werewolf can withstand Wolfsbane. Then an idea struck me. I suddenly shouted, "Fine! I'll do it. But are you sure... you really want me right now?" One of the werewolves grinned. "Be a good girl and we'll make sure you enjoy it." I gave a bitter laugh. "Fine. I won't live much longer anyway. A few of you coming with me? At least I won't die alone." That wiped the grin off his face. "What did you just say?" I faked a pained expression and clutched my stomach. "Did you forget already? I was exposed to Wolfsbane. I still have the toxins in my body. You touch me? Aren't you afraid you'll get poisoned too?" The others stopped dead in their tracks. I groaned and collapsed on the bed, pretending to be in agony. 1/3 16:56 Tue, Aug 5 - 83%1 X One of them scratched his head and asked, "Does anyone know for sure? Can you get poisoned from mating with someone who's been dosed with Wolfsbane?" Another one backed up a step. "I mean... what if it's true? I don't want to die." "Damn it! She's right here and we can't even touch her? This is bullshit!" the one who had undressed roared in frustration. The first werewolf narrowed his eyes and stared at me. "Fine. We'll wait. Doesn't make a difference. We'll take her once the poison clears. We're still getting paid either way." The four of them retreated to the side. I finally let out a quiet breath and discreetly pressed the ring on my hand. Inside was a GPS tracker. The moment I activated it, Jackson would receive my location. It was our secret arrangement. The signal meant one thing: I was in danger. He would come for me. Aiden's POV Something felt wrong today. Raelyn said she was heading home after work. But by six, she still hadn't returned. That set off all my alarms. I drove around looking for her, but there was no sign. It was like her scent had vanished from all of Varken. With no options left, I called Jackson. "It's late and Raelyn hasn't come home. Is she with you?" Jackson sounded anxious on the other end. "Mr. Salvatore, she sent me her location. An abandoned shack outside Varken. I think... she's been kidnapped." The word kidnapped sank like a stone in my gut. "I'm on my way. Call the police. I'll meet you at Southside." "Got it. I'll send you the exact address." The location he sent me was in the outskirts-deep in the forest. I summoned Edward and had him race toward it. In less than half an hour, Edward arrived near the shack. The place was lit up. Two werewolves stood guard at the door. I couldn't see what was happening inside. I shifted back into human form and crept around the back. Peering through a window, I saw Raelyn tied to a bed. No one else inside. I shifted one hand into a wolf claw and ripped through the rusted window grate, then climbed in. "Aiden?" Raelyn gasped. I caught the scent of Wolfsbane on her immediately. "You're poisoned?" I asked. Raelyn nodded. "I can't shift." I told her to stay calm, cut the ropes with my claw, then pulled her through the window and ran into the forest. But the second we escaped, the guards spotted us. They transformed into black wolves and charged after us. With Raelyn poisoned and me outnumbered, I had no choice but to call Edward and sling her over his back. Trees flew past as Edward raced forward. Raelyn gripped his mane tightly. Under the bright moonlight, howls echoed behind us, growing louder. "Aiden, go without me! Don't worry about me! These guys are criminals. If they catch us, they'll kill us both! At least one of us should make it out!" Raelyn shouted from Edward's back. "I'm not leaving you behind!" I spoke to her through our soul link, firm and unwavering.
